OSR2+ tilting to the right

Hello,
If this isn’ the right place, please move.
I have the OSR2+ which has worked amazing for the few years I have had it, however, it has all of a sudden started to tilt / falling to the right when in action. I tried tightening everything, changing the right arm (was cracked) but nothing seems to work. The only ones I cant do are the tiny little screws in the arms, because they are frayed and I can’t do anyhting with them.
Does anyone have any solutions? If you tell me it is the little screws, then I might be screwed.

Thanks in advance.

Step 1 is to remove the reciever and observe the servo’s behavior. By “unlinking” them you can see if one of them is being super slow, sluggish, or downright not working. It’s VERY hard to troubleshoot with the 3 servos working together. I’m guessing the right servo is bad or your servo horn is stripped out.

Replacing a servo or servo horn after a “few years” of use should pretty much be expected. It’s a wearable/consumable part like needing new brakes or an oil filter on your car.

Yes, and depending on how much you use it, the parts can also wear off much faster. :face_with_peeking_eye:

Have to echo g90ak’s words and add on that if it is the servo that has gone you’ll need to make sure your replacement is as close as possible the same as the broken one. As upgrading that one servo to something better could result in this problem happening again but more slight as it would be faster/slower than the others, causing them to be out of sync.

TLDR: if you take this chance to upgrade the servo, upgrade all of them with the same one except the twist one.

The servos does make sense. I will test them tomorrow. Thank you for the advice. I will check online for new servos.

If it does turn out to be the servo, I will upgrade all of them, that makes more sense. Thanks for the advice, I will teat tomorrow.

Hello, so from what I can see / tell, the right arm seems to work okay, the same speed as the left, but it has a lower starting position. I’m guessing this is still a servo problem that needs to be changed and not something that can be ‘reset’.

Thanks

To me it sounds like you need to rehome it if you already tried to have the metal horn be at the right angle. I don’t know the process myself so I’ll leave explaining it to someone else as it involves altering firmware I believe.

Yeah, i wouldn’t know where to begin to rehome it either. Hopefully, someone has an idea, if not, I’ll just buy new servos and hope for the best.

Thanks

Remove the servo horn and power up thr servos. They will move to home. Reinstall horn in correct orientation. Profit

Thank you, I will attempt this when i get home. I have frayed the little alan screw thats in the horn so I think I am gping to struggle to get it out.

Thabks for the help.

Adjusting the firmware might be easier than you think it is, and it gives finer control over the alignment than removing a horn and re-orienting it manually (as you are limited to the positions of the servo gear teeth). It sounds like you purchased the OSR from somebody if you didn’t have to go through that homing process yourself already? So you could try asking the person you bought it from what firmware they flashed onto the controller and how to load into it to adjust the home positions yourself. Is that possible?

I did purchase it from @Tempest hopefully, he might be able to tell me what firmware and what I need to do.

Thanks
