Question for $$$ Funscript Creators

If you had a new platform to sell your scripts on, would you want to? And if yes, what features would be nice to have?

I’m developing vFAPS and my goal is to create a more holistic funscript ecosystem for the community.

New Users

  • Easy to install and use
  • Easy to play media and discover scripts

Power Users

  • Easy to manage and organize library
  • Easy to modify and tweak scripts

Script Creators

  • Easy to create and share scripts
  • Easy to sell scripts and get paid

Basically, I’m trying to gauge interest and gather feedback so any thoughts/notes/comments are welcome and appreciated!

Trading place would be cool. Get points for scripts and buy some for points. If there is money involved you loose anonymity. Makes People script.

I like this idea and points could be a very fun mechanic.

Also want to make sure creators have a way to get paid though (should they choose to).

The way I’ve got payments working is with vFAPS as a facilitation platform with Stripe handling everything.

This was done intentionally to avoid vFAPS having to collect user data and/or handle financial transactions.

Certainly open to other ideas though. And the points concept could easily operate in tandem.

lower fees on platform than patreon/subscribestar

dk what’s the fees on stripe but I would compare to the ones available on patreon/subscribestar

easy way to upload scripts, easy way to attach a video, video hosting would be great but that must be expensive, maybe a system like faptap? I think one of the options is streaming the video directly from the popular video streaming platforms like rule34video

bot implementation with discord to manage roles according to subscription (TBD after discord decides on what to do about age verification)

maybe also an option to sell scripts individually to non suscribers

no censorship if possible, add tags so people moderate the content they see themselves make them “not shown” as default, as long it’s not real ilegal dk why anybody cares about fantasy bestiality, loli, or whatever, probably some problem with the payment platforms and I’m hopping this will be solved after Europe implements alternatives to Visa and Mastercard

those are my biggest requirements

It’s a bit complicated, because they all have slightly different fee structures, but effectively Patreon and Subscribestar both charge a ~10-12% fee.

This is ridiculous and it can definitely be lower. I’m targeting 5-7%.

Yeah, video hosting is ridiculously expensive. It’s also an optimization and logistics nightmare. That said, I do have thoughts on how it could be handled down the line.

I’ve thought about this too. It’s a tricky proposition given the need to sync devices with a platform I don’t have any influence over but the optimist in me isn’t willing to rule it out just yet.

Yeah, when and if the other shoe drops with Discord will definitely have an impact on certain features.

I sure as hell don’t have any intention or desire to be the morality police or whatever, so up to a point, yeah, but nothing illegal, obviously.

Because the examples you just gave are illegal in many places. In many European countries for example, it’s illegal to download loli material, which happens to be cached on your HDD if it isn’t suppressed. That’s part of why Vlad, who has a strong anti-censorship stance, made that part of the standard block group on this site, i.e. opt-in for these controversial tags.

Second, I should clarify that I draw the line at “it’s illegal and I could go to jail” beyond that, you do you.

I was referencing the tagging mechanics but yeah, definitely could have made that clearer. Oops.

And if it’s legal where you are then again, what do I care, you do you.

I’m setting up the architecture so that the only thing hosted on servers I have responsibility for serve funscript files and the way tagging works currently is completely up to the user.

FAP Store — Creator Early Access Now Open

Hey everyone,

I’ve been building FAP Store, a marketplace built specifically for funscripts.

The pitch is simple:
creators keep 90% of every sale.

How?

User can purchase pre-load credits, so there are no per-download Stripe fees eating into your margins. One processing fee at top-up, spread across multiple purchases and not $0.30+2.9% on every single sale.

What that looks like on a $3.00 script:

Gumroad: $0.80 (27%) > Creator Nets: $2.20

Patreon: $0.69 (23%) > Creator Nets: $2.31

FAP Store: $0.30 (10%) > Creator Nets: $2.70

This is as low as I can get it without going negative. However, if we’re able to get to scale, there are ways to get that even lower as Stripe is willing to reduce fees after a certain volume.

For users, there are of course all the free funscripts you’re already used to, but now in a single place with 1-click download and simple playback all in the same app.

The FAP Store is functional and in active development with script uploads, downloads, heatmap previews, multi-axis support, creator profiles, script ratings, Stripe Connect payouts, and in-app purchasing from the vFAPS desktop app already working.

Early access creators get a founding badge, featured placement at launch, vanity FAP store page URL, and direct input on the platform.

There’s a question of trust and authority. Some games are given away for free on EGS, but people still buy them on Steam.

Yup, totally understand that. Building trust and authority is like planting a tree, the best time to do it was years ago, the second best time to do it is now.

At the end of the day, that’s all I can do.

I’m actually super interested and sent an application already. I know a lot of people sell on Patreon, and I have a creator’s account, but I just can’t be assed to figure out a format that won’t get my account taken down.

Thanks! I just released v2.9 and am heads down on v3.0 which will be the store.

Already in testing and should be ready for wide release in the next few weeks. :slight_smile:
