I hope it’s okay I just bring this up briefly since it’s related to the tagging system - I’m not sure where to put this and don’t think it warrants an entire post / thread - relating to tags: how exactly, if it’s possible, do I go about filtering/hiding specific tags? More specifically, how do I make it so that when I click on the Scripts category, for instance, I am no longer faced with a front page full of content I find to be unappealing before I have time filter by tags I would like to see?
Edit: Also just wanted to add this, not to shame or intentionally be negative about the whole thing, but just to provide insight into @gayrobot’s exasperation of feeling, as a gay person, that they’ve been "constantly ‘sidelined’ " throughout their life. Take a look at Ohdoki’s Handyverse website. They’ve recently (I think…) added a new section to it - Audio stories. It has two sections - Handy Collection: Male-oriented audio picks & Oh Collection: Female oriented audio picks (upon looking it up just now, I already knew the Oh was their feminine-leaning vibrator, but apparently it’s driven by soundwaves - which makes this all the more egregious). Anyhow, the tracks in both collections have one thing in common - the complete absence of a male-narrated script. Maybe I am misunderstanding what the female oriented section is suposed to be, but it seems pretty straightforward. I guess my point being, in the Handyverse, gay quite literally, is not even thought about enough to be an afterthought, and the female oriented content does not consider the feminine gaze (just read the blurbs abut the audio tracks) . And Ohdoki is a somewhat larger, successful company, which just sort of widens the scope and makes it all the more insidious, and definitely ingrained.
I’m sorry this became much longer than I had anticipated - the racing thoughts of someone up too late without a wink in sight.
Okay, perfect, thank you for directing me here. I guess, sort of unfortunately, this confirms that I was in the right place to begin with and had started doing just that. Does a list of every tag exist somewhere - or am I myself able to populate one? Because what I realize now is that did in fact being filtering out tags, but the sheer number of them I’m sure made the task feel Sisyphusian, because I imagine I realized I would have to filter out every tag other than gay, perhaps? I’m not sure - I believe this was a few months ago before I left it. Don’t want to be too specific here, but having to go through and filter out a blanket tag like a specific body part and then various iterations of that body part couple with ‘cum-on’, ‘hairy’, ‘fat’, becomes way too granular, in my opinion.
This is definitely not the place for this conversation. Best advice I can give you is to add tags as you see videos you don’t like. Not sure why you’d add them all as once.
There’s a help section you can start a topic in if you want advice on this
Because it had been months of being faced with pages of content I find to be unattractive and so I wanted to hide as much as possible. It was the first time I was using the feature.
Thank you, this helped a lot. Quesiton, now that I do hae active filters in place, it seems like my current feed might be resourceful for weeding the straight ones out? My scripts feed is basically all straight (I’ve been thinking about learning to script to help the gays out). Or is it just more a matter of time needed / free to go through the actual tagging process?
Okay so actually, I’m not sure why this is happening. I was on a topic in the Sales section, clicked into the users profile and then clicked into their posted topics, and BAM, a bunch of posts showing with the straight tag. I’m not sure I’ve done this correctly.
