Reputable Script Creators
For a while the moderators have maintained the @Scripters Group manually to show users who the most trustworthy creators are in the community.
This group also serves to get background information on an up and coming opportunity for a new creator marketplace separate from the usual suspects that like to suddenly ban us for seemingly no reason. Soon I will create a feature to automatically create dedicated categories for users in this group.
We used to allow users to request joining this group but that’s become a challenge to keep on top of while also ensuring only the highest quality scriptwriters join it.
So we revamped it with automation
From now on users must meet a pre-determined set of stats tracked by discourse in order to join the group.
These are the new requirements:
Trust Level 2
- Minimum 30 Topics
- A leaderboard score of at least 1000
Trust Level 3
- Minimum 20 Topics
- A leaderboard score of at least 700
Trust Level 4
- Minimum 20 Topics
- A leaderboard score of at least 500
In order to get leaderboard points, you have to post under Scripts > Free Scripts and get users likes.
Because of the new requirements we may remove some users from the group.
How does this work?
There is a plugin coming this way to discourse: Discourse Workflows - Plugin - Discourse Meta
I am highly anticipating using it for adding more advanced capabilities to the forum, and I have already started building some automations in a test environment.
Because the plugin is supposed to work similarly to the N8N Project, I have built an automation in N8N to with the discourse API and I’m tracking users scores. Once a user meets the requirements they will be added to the group automatically.
Some users have already been automatically added.
