Script Overlaps Question

Hello,

I got curious about this after seeing a user mention they couldn’t offer a specific deal due to an agreement with SLR, which made me wonder what the overlap is when it comes to the scripts published by SLR/NAVR and user-generated scripts that are sold.

Which case is it? (I assume it’s 3)

  1. the scripts are identical and NAVR/SLR post here as an advertisement for people who just want to do one-off videos vice subscribe to script services and/or own the script for personal preference edits

2) there is zero overlap and scripts published here that people purchase are always different

  1. combination of both where some are the same and some are unique

There are some cases where it’s obvious - like RealCucumber with SLR scripts. More curious about the ones that don’t have disclaimers about the script also being available elsewhere.

Assuming it’s 3, is there a tag or something that exists that indicates the offered script is also already available for people with a script subscription?

I don’t completely understand your question, but when you become a scripter that publish on SLR you sign an agreement that stipulate a number of conditions/requirements. I haven’t read it but I assume that you are required to use original work of your own doing, not publish the same scripts elsewhere etc. There might also be conditions on what you can do with your work if you end your partnership with SLR.

Many posts about paid scripts here contain links to SLR where you can access the script in different ways, e.g. a subscription or individual purchases. You know if the seller is independent if the purchase of the script goes through 3rd party sites like Sellix, Gumroad etc. instead of redirecting to a site like SLR.

I thought NAVR mostly used AI-generated scripts and the script token solution provided by TheHandy, i.e. not a full script in the funscript file, only a token that enables lifetime management and server upload to the device. But maybe that has changed.

Got it, thanks, that portion about third party seller fully answers my question. I also was struggling to figure out how to line out text for the last few minutes since I checked some old posts and @RealCucumber’s posts are pretty explicit about the script also being available on SLR.

And to add for clarity, my initial confusion was whether the third party seller scripts were also the same ones used by SLR/NAVR,

I think realcumbers scripts are only available on SLR (not also). When he writes that a script is also available for purchase to keep forever he refers to that you can do an individual script purchase through SLR instead of accessing the script via streaming through a SLR script subscription.

Oh gotcha. For someone who prides themselves in the ability to read, I have definitely failed in doing just that in this case :joy:

Honestly, people’s script pages just look so dang official that I just assumed it was the studio. Definitely thought Polt was a studio scripted until I started looking in closer detail. Well. This is exciting. Guess I’m about to expand the old library

No studios sell scripts here.

SLR is a bit special since scripters there are independent and in a partnership via an agreement with SLR so that’s mostly why those scripters still post here. Stuff can drown on a site like SLR due to the large number of video releases. I assume that the scripters advertise in an attempt to boost their share of payouts from streaming and individual sales.
