Should deepfakes be allowed?

In general sure deepfakes maybe an intrusion on privacy but in terms for scripting, are we really going to draw the line here especially when there are loli scripts being posted? Good discussion to have in principle but when it comes to actual scripts here, I don’t think it should be an issue. Nude fakes of celebs have always been around so celebs aren’t privy to the new rise of deepfakes and in reference to the Jennifer lawrence nudes, those were real and hacked from her personal cloud, these are two completely differnet things.

okay great, now this is its own topic. on the topic of consent, i dont consent to being part of this broad discussion. everytime someone posts about deepfake script request they shouldnt be dragged into this discussion. puttiing your moral views on them and shaming anyone who may have been open to scripting the video. so this discussion about should they be allowed is great, have it. but until a law passes or admin says its not allowed then keep your personal views off script request.

You’re correct - that’s why the discussion on morality and site policy was split into a separate thread to your script request. In the future, if people want to continue this discussion and try to do so in a script request thread, they should be redirected to this thread.

I didn’t expect people to feel so strongly about it and start a huge discussion about the topic when I commented on your original script request. I regret not predicting that, and will be more careful in the future.

If you don’t have any interest in discussing whether it should be allowed, then feel free to stop participating in this discussion.

Just throwing a curveball out there. You can script deep fakes for yourself and not post them here or perhaps create your scripts and share them through a deep fake forum.

It’s best to draw the line somewhere or eroscripts and the tech it supports will just turn into the new emos and furries, the cringy and degenerate few tarnished both groups perception the general population has on them and it may never go away. Don’t wanna turn into a “haven -something-”. Remember, you can reason with one individual, you can’t reason with a self-righteous mob.
Let another site or a new one host the more alternative scripts.
Regarding lols, i do like petite women but often it’s way too much and obvious.

yeah. i dont think its worth the risk. if its illegal in 5 states, its prob just best not to allow it here.

Wow this was a heated debate.
I already said what I think in other threads.

Deepfakes are are already illegal in many places, numerous sites don’t allow them.
If you make them yourself and don’t share them, I don’t care.

But if you share them with people or post it on the internet, you’re no better than someone engaging in revenge porn imo.

Just saw the script request, it looks really creepy

its not illegal, the va law says created with the intention to “coerce, harass, or intimidate” which would not be the point. and the ca law says In addition, the measure exempts from liability “internet website[s], or a regularly published newspaper, magazine, or other periodical . . . that routinely carries news and commentary of general interest” if such sites include proper disclaimers. Websites must “clearly state” that the “materially deceptive audio or visual media does not accurately represent the speech or conduct of the candidate.” …

What makes you so sure those deepfakes aren’t made in said intentions?

regardless, we wouldn’t be creating deep fakes. scripting an already created video. …

also prv B. says.
If a person uses services of an Internet service provider, an electronic mail service provider, or any other information service, system, or access software provider that provides or enables computer access by multiple users to a computer server in committing acts prohibited under this section, such provider shall not be held responsible for violating this section for content provided by another person

IMHO: Deep fakes should be allowed as long as the video is clearly labeled DEEP FAKE both in title and in the video, and the person who is deep faked is not being humiliated, harmed, etc in the context of the porno. but thats just how i see it.

In my opinion deepfakes are always a form of humiliation, how would you feel if someone put your face on top of the porno without your consent and make it public. I would feel really ashamed. They should be illegal - it’s identity theft and intelectual property infringement (in a form of porn clip).

The only person who should get to decide on what is / is not humiliated or harmful is the person who is being deepfaked. I think it’s relatively obvious that if you were to ask any celebrity if they were okay being faked into porn scenes they would say absolutely not. Their likeness is a crucial aspect of their profession and they should have full control over it.

Listen. I get it. We’re all horny mofos and we want to pretend like Margot Robbie is giving us a blowjob. There’s nothing wrong or shameful about having sexual fantasies about beautiful celebrities. What is wrong, however, is stealing their face and creating and distributing pornographic media that portrays them in a manner that they never consented to.

We, as consumers, don’t get to decide their consent for them. Attempting to do so may not constitute rape in the traditional sense, but it’s still a violation.

again you assume everyone shares your prospective and that you know how all celebrities think.

many female celebs have been known to release real sex tapes, so to assume they would think more of not actually being in a video and not having to do any of the work? i have heard many female celebs talk about wishing they could do a scene, but being scared of the shame attached.

Pleaso go ahead and link the interviews (from the respected source) where Emma Watson and Scarlett Johanson say that they apparently want to be pornstars.

The only person that assumes that celebrities wants to be put into porn movies is you. It’s the same explanation as some rapists use.

I said it before and it is still my opinion that porn should always be with consent of the actors at the moment it is made/released.

Deepfakes are NOT made this way and therefore i think it should not be allowed.

It could be seen as a form of digital sexual harassement.

The point I tried to make before is how would you feel if someone made one of you without you knowing and agreeing to it. I bet most of you would not like it.
I certainly would not like it

Also HYN when the female celebs make a sex tape themselves and release it they have agreed to it.
So if they where asked if it is okay to make a deepfake of them and they agree then it there is no problem.
But be honest how many of these deepfakes makers have asked the celebrities if they could make one.
I bet none of them so its not okay.

And HYN you’re right it is not illegal YET.
Goverments are slow to react on what is happening in the real world and adapt their laws to it.
How long did it take for a lot of goverments to make illegal downloading really illegal?
But its only a question of time before a celebrity will try to sue a deepfake maker now these things get more and more realistic and no longer the obviously photoshopped head on a body, that everyone can see is clearly fake.
And that might be the moment that goverments will start looking into deepfakes.

First off, prospective means “expecting something in the future”, or “likely to happen at a future date”. The word you’re looking for here is perspective.

Second, and much more important, my assumption puts consent in the possession of the person being deepfaked. Your assumption takes that away from them.

As for “many female celebs have been known to release real sex tapes”, the majority of those were filmed and distributed by the actress who then profited off of it. In cases like the Fappening where their nudes were illegally hacked, that media is regularly issued takedown notices because it is ILLEGAL.

“i have heard many female celebs talk about wishing they could do a scene, but being scared of the shame attached.”

You literally just made this up. Show me proof any instance where a celebrity has said this.

Of COURSE they should. The whole war on deepfakes is stupid. A so-called deepfake is nothing more than a computer filling in what your imagination would, only better. And NO, it doesn’t hurt the person the deepfake is of, unless they have mental issues where they try to control others and what others do.

Either deepfakes are fine, or imagination needs to be outlawed. Doubtless some people would want the outlawing, but I’m all for deepfakes.

Read some interviews with celebrities who are victim of those videos.

Some people here watch so much porn that they forget what empathy means.
