SLR alternatives?

I had to cancel my subscription to SLR after few months because the quality/bitrate of their videos went downhill and on top of that most of the videos just keep freezing in DeoVR app (the only way to also play their scripts).

Now the only other real option is VrPorn and POVR? Neither of them offering scripts? How is their video quality?

I haven’t found any viable competitors to SLR when it comes to streaming and playing their scripts. Adulttime was the closest, but still a distant second.

If you have a Quest 3 you can download the vids/scripts you really like and play back locally. This will bump up the quality of most videos.

You can still log into the site and stream, or choose the local vid’s from DeoVR. I imagine the same is true for PC users.

Out of interesting scripting content at the min. Need to start making some sub, not sure where as well. Most VR sites have Ai scripts nowdays? That forumophilla looks like a script content gold mine. Them teen vidoes look amazing. You have to pay to download. Is it fast?

It’s all free. I highly recommend qbittorrent. to download the video. The speed is based on the number of people sharing and your own speed. I can typically download a video within 20-25 minutes.

excuse me for venting on here: because of the state where i live sexlikereal decided to reroute traffic to a sfw version that stops you from being able to sign in, which stops me from buying anymore scripts, and I lose the scripts Ive already bought

I’m just curious, have you looked into why your DeoVR keeps freezing? My old Quest would do that but it was bc it was overheating, which might be your issue. Or not enough storage?

I am 99% sure it’s a combination of bad buffering in DeoVR and slow SLR servers (maybe older videos are not properly cached in their CDN or something). I have no issues playing local videos.

Apart from its primary purpose of data traffic encryption, another key functionality of a virtual private network (VPN) is to bypass geo-restrictions on content. Have you tried looking into using one? You’ll have to be careful, since there are a lot of sketchy ones floating about. If you want to try a free one to test it out, I would suggest either ProtonVPN or Windscribe.

I have done some testing and it seems DeoVR app might be 100% at fault. Even local videos can freeze up. I think decoding is somehow messed up. Either there is a memory leak or the app does not use HW encoding well. Both GPU and CPU usage is low while playing. Sometimes the freezes stop when I toggle DirectShow (doesn’t matter if it’s on or off, the toggling itself seems to help.

So i tried proton vpn, the free version is hit or miss since you can’t select the server, and it drops my speed to under 40mbps, for context my speed is usually 300-500mbps. Using the brave browser with tor worked until a few days ago, now it gets stuck in a cloudflare loop

You should be able to choose a server with ProtonVPN’s free version. The selection is admittedly limited compared to having a paid plan. Nevertheless, there are several available in each of five or six different countries.
Most of the free servers are quite busy a large chunk of the time. (Nighttime in the given country is usually the least busy.) Thus, you likely won’t absolutely amazing speeds on any free VPN. That’s particularly true if you’re trying to stream some large VR video file. All told, you might be better off just download videos over the VPN to bypass the region lockout, and watch them locally off your computer.
