I would love to see an option when viewing/searching in the e.g. free scripts section an option to sort from duration, i appreciate everything people do and uploading scripts.
However I am particular getting tired of seeing so many scripts that are a minute or below in duration and therefor would love for a way to filter them out when needed.

There are obligatory tags for script topics beginning with len that can be used to filter for the length. So you could use that in the topics view, or exclude tags in the search function by typing -tags:len-0-2 for example. But I agree that it would be nice to be able to exclude in the topics view instead of only in the search function. Or maybe I just haven’t figured out how yet.

i would assume that we probably can’t see length in the view topics section because we’re technologically limited by the forum format(discourse iirc).
easiest way would prob be:
search -tags:len-0-2 then hit sort by latest topic, since that would basically do the exact same thing as looking through all of the latest topics w/o the short scripts.
or
ban/hide posts with the len-0-2 tags like how people hide loli, bestiality, etc etc. would just have to remember that you have the tag banned if you ever want to parse through them later.

I was not aware of those options, gotta try it out.
A thought I had, it would be great if possible of course to have a button next to the tags button where you can directly sort everything by duration in the various categories, by categories I mean “latest” “new” “unread” “top” etc. And it seems like duration information is already available since you can len search.

Yeah but it’s limited to the defined ranges 0-2, 2-5, 5-10, 10-25, 25-60 and 60+. And it’s the OP who sets the correct tag. From my understanding the actual lengths aren’t saved in a database and aren’t uniformly given in either text or uploaded scripts (external hosting) to be able to sort by them. There could be methods to aggregate the data, but I’ll leave that for an admin to answer.
Alright I see, Lets hope someone with the power that be may see this and hopefully be able to implement something like this.
Perhaps a duration input could be required in the upload form.
In order to accomplish this it would require we write a plugin for discourse.
It’s not outside the realm of possibility, we’ve done it before. But for this purpose it may be outside the benefit/cost ratio.
Just a note, I always keep an eye on Site Feedback. Even if I don’t reply, that doesn’t mean I’m not keeping tabs on a post.
alright did think it would be more involved than what I made it sound like, I have no idea how any of this works. Hope though at some point it will be possible, would be a great addition in my opinion!
