Working on my first scripts and just trying to get to grips on the speed limits for devices.
I am currently scripting with my Keon in mind, but want to make sure they can play on Handy and the OSR devices as well.
I see the speed in units per second in the scripture program. Can anyone explain to me what these “units” refer to?
Secondly does anyone know what the best minimum and maximum margins for the Keon and Handy is.
Currently I have the high limit set to 520 units per second to warn me.
Thanks!
A unit is an amount of motion in a given second.
A speed of 100 means you move from 100% to 0% in 1 second = 1 stroke down in 1 second
A speed of 200 means you move from 100% to 0% in 0.5 seconds = 1 stroke up and 1 stroke down in 1 second
A speed of 400 means you move from 100% to 0% in 0.25 seconds = 4 strokes (2 up, 2 down) in 1 second.
It’s got some inverse calculation here depending on how you try and calculate it. I usually aim to stay under 500 speed, so I put my purple at 500 units per second for the Syncbot. It’s personal preference but I feel like some devices handle different speed ranges better than others.
