FapTap exists, but there are a lot of problems, at least for me right now.
For some videos they don’t have a source
Sometimes the videos are stuck and don’t load and I have to reload the browser for them to suddenly work…
There is a lot of ads and affiliate products and other things (which you can hide with uBlock anyways)
The filtering works but sometimes it is not so ultra great and it feels a bit bare bones.
Old content is not very often available and not a lot gets posted on there. I also see that a lot of big scripters have stopped uploading (why?).
So I have started building my own site as a hobby project, because I like programming, which is kinda similar to the other site but I want to improve it. So currently in my prototype, the following things are possible (screenshots below):
MULTIPLE scripts support per video and multiple axes (OSR support)
much better filtering, so you can filter for anything, like what orientation, is the video beat based, is there certain content you would not like to see and all that.
no advertisements or affiliates!
videos are UPLOADED and not linked like it works on FapTap I think, which is much better, because they load much faster and they can never have the problem that no source exists.
Videos have a small preview when going over the seeking bar and the funscript speed heatmap is directly in the seeking bar too.
Embedded videos so you can for example show a video as IFRAME directly on a website like EroScripts so that users can play it from there!
I think that I am at a very good state right now and it is usable, but there are still a lot of things I want to accomplish:
Playlists (I think that should be ready soon)
Commenting on videos
maybe a better design (I did copy the design a bit…)
Private/unlisted videos so that you can give only certain users access to it, so if you have a paid script for example, only people who you added to the video can then see it in the search and actually watch it.
Support for more devices? I know that FapTap uses this buttplugJS, but I don’t like it and would rather implement a cleaner solution.
So my main question is:
Should I continue working on it? Is this something people are interested in? So i just would like to know if there are any scripters that might be open to test it, upload scripts/videos and give me feedback (I will not upload stuff without permission!!)?
Maybe there are other features that are missing and I could implement them?
Video player with seekbar which shows the speed, you have mini thumbnails for seeking and multi-script support (see: Normal 370 speed, you can choose another script when clicking on it).
Filtering: Normal filtering is there, but you can do a lot of more granular filtering where you say you NEVER want to see some stuff.
Connecting devices. Currently it works for The Handy, Kiiro and OSR (through WebUSB, which I think is most common?).
Uploading funscripts: You can upload multiple ones and add multiple axes.
I know it says “noname”, because I haven’t found a name for it yet…
Competition is healthy. I’ll give you a bit of advice though.
You’re going to need some way to make money, especially when hosting all of the content. Which is also a dicey proposition, but we’ll glaze past that.
There was a project before faptap that sustained on donations or something, as well as some financially insufficient hosting and it had to shut down because of it.
If you like what you are doing, keep doing it. Competition is almost non-existent and we do better work on things we like. Just keep in mind that you’ll need a real plan in order to keep it up for the masses.
I finished implementing playlists. It was much more work than I thought, but I am very happy with the result now I think. As a user you can now create playlists publicly, unlisted or private. They show up on your profile if they are public. You can play them and everything is integrated in the player.
The implementation is very similar to YouTube, because I think they do it very well, also with the “My Likes” which is also just a playlist, so you can replay your liked videos without a problem.

Currently playing playlist implemented in the player where you can see the queue, select a video or skip to the next one.
Public playlists (You always all your playlists, for other users the liked videos would be hidden).
Now I have the improve the video player, because I noticed a few issues with playback synchronization and I am not happy yet, because it must be very clean, it should not feel out of sync!
Thank you @Shownshadow I also added it to the terms of my project that you have to have the rights to add the scripts, and that you are always the owner of it and not the site or something!!
I have found a temporary name for it “EroSync” but I don’t know what to think about it honestly…
The main challenges with these kinds of projects are the resource cost of streaming, the high storage requirements, and the copyright issues. You will need to fund these, especially when people start to use it. When Faptap started, it was running fine. Also, it was highlighted that there would be no ads and that it would remain free. Now ads are… everywhere, and playing videos is unreliable. I also like programming. I have two projects that I shared with the community. Although, besides myself, there are only a few thousand active users, I have never had any issues like the ones I encounter on Faptap. One of them is a streaming site that runs locally, using your own media. It solves the problems with running costs and legal issues.
However, if you can manage the streaming issues and have similar content to Faptap, I would switch without hesitation.
I have now improved the player and optimized that for mobile too, with thumbnails and everything. There is still some work for mobile left, but it is going in the right direction
Video ratings now show a percentage, so you know what the true rating of a video is, not just the like count, which could mean a lot of things.
A lot of small improvements that aren’t worth showing, but in general design and everything.
I think I am coming closer to a first release which is good, but unfortunately there is no content which could be added, because I am not very good at scripting. If someone is interested in adding stuff, I would be very grateful, but if not I understand too. Anyways, I will continue programming on it, because it is a lot of fun and I am learning a lot.
Completely redesigned the site layout to a sidebar. So more stuff is visible and I can show “playlists” similar to YouTube. Categories are better visible and I can show more for the profile (thinking about ranks, level, xp…).
Playlists can now be played in shuffled mode!!!
You can now follow other users playlists, which I think is really cool because then that playlist shows up under your playlists and you can just play it and have it saved, very easy.
Playlists now work in embeds so you can share a video with a playlist and everything works in the embed player!
Mobile optimizations..
I think I am coming close to a version I can put online, but without content. But nontheless I will continue. There is still a lot of things I want to implement/improve and there are still bugs, but with time I will fix them!
Improved performance (less downloading until the site is ready, new more optimized icons, etc.)
Improved sidebar again, so that all navigation is there.
Fixed various bugs for funscript playback, improved video creation process.
surely there are some problems on mobile, because it is not VERY optimized for that yet, but I think I will check that out soon, like navigation and all that stuff!!!
If an upload finished, while you’re editing the video information (title, etc.), now it doesn’t reset that data, like it did before (ANNOYING). The save button is now more prominent and only shows up when you have some changes to save.
Added an orientation picker so you can set+save your preferred orientation (straight, gay, trans, all). I might change that in the future so you can set multiple orientations!!
Hopefully soon the site will be ready and I will make a post.
Just curious, how does your site handle bisexual content, or content that includes both straight and gay stuff? Because I assume clicking on ‘gay’ would block all straight stuff, including bisexual stuff, or do you intend to lump all bisexual content into the gay category? Just something to consider!
I have now rewritten this logic, thank you for your great idea!!
You can now select multiple orientations (for example straight, gay) so videos which contain either gay or straight now show up (and transgender would be hidden in this case).
If you want to find videos that have explicitly set gay+straight as orientation, you can do so via search filters!
