Starting to budget for this (or if you want to do a gift to a scripter
POWER DELIVERY?
I was researching if this is possible for OSRs
Basically the problem was all coreless servos are 5A when active and USB type-C PPS can only provide 5A, so you need around 1.2*5A+6*0.5A for 7 servos
Definetly possible with some capacitors but idle eats alot
For 1-servo it’s pretty simple though
Interesting.
Couple of questions I have:
USB PD only for power supply or data transfer possible as well? I know it stands for “power delivery” so my guess it’s only for power. But could it still be used for data transfer?
Will there be more versions? One with USB, one standard power adapter?
Will the new Handy have a battery, so it could be used without power cable?
It could just be because of the zoom, but the new Handy looks more “bulky”. Which could mean bigger and therefore more powerful motor. Would fit with this info → It's time 2 - #33 by fuccaneer
It has USB 3.0 power delivery people…
I really hope we don’t have to wait 5 months for the release because…
I am also a scripter who scripts:)
And I would love to write a review telling everybody to buy one, lol.
I bet this is the level of excitement people back in the day felt when colour tv’s came about.
Whoa! how big it that humongous screen? “It’s 12 inches” 12 inches! my god that’s incredible!

Just so you know Mr. Alexander sir/Handy team, the usual commercial requirement of advertising for ages before release of a product in order to get sales is unnecessary in this instance. We are ready, We’ve been ready.
Put it out and they will come.
I know, I know. I can see the joke too, lol.
Team Handy is slowly edging us to a full release
So, doesn’t Qualcomm QC 3.0 usually refer to charging? For charging devices and dynamically adjust voltage levels? If so, it sounds like the Handy 2 may be rechargeable.
Please, keep a barrel plug option. The last time I changed phone, I got one which has only a USB-C port, no jack. I got USB-C headphones. After 6 months, the headphones started disconnecting if you just looked at the cable the wrong way. After a year, charging would randomly not work.
This kind of port will stop working if there is any trace of dust and is a pain to clean.Your product has moving parts power by strong motors and needs to be moved around while plugged to the wall. Imo, this will make it less reliable than the first version.
Can you just make a single topic and update that. Goodness…
Man, I just got the handsfree setup for handy 1. Hope the arm/vice part is compatible w handy 2.
Next update Price ?
Yes, it is compatible
It’ll be interesting to see how all the increased features work, but I’m primarily concerned about noise. Make it quieter, and you’ve got yourself a sale.
I’m afraid they’ll sacrifice power and reliability for easy of use. If they would’ve just made the stroke length longer or add something like a twist module I would’ve bought it without thinking. Now I’ll just wait for the reviews.
The #4 says it’s 12.5cm +vs 11cm v1)
