It was too good to be true. PMVHaven was the best place to get PMV’s from, as evident by the many folks here who link to vid’s from the website. It wasn’t perfect - ad pop-ups for example - but it did the job.
They roled out a new version last week and since than the site works terrible. Half of the time you can’t get it to load, sometimes only a few video’s. When opening vids in a new tab, they start playing automatically.
Sure, they might be things they’re going to solve. I sure hope so. But damn what a step down it is compared to the previous version.
Anyone else frustrated with the roll out of the new site?
I share the sentiment. I’ve been trying to source PMVs for upcoming scripts and it’s been a nightmare. I don’t mind the most of the new changes but the site performance is appalling.
It’s a rocky rollout but hopefully they can get the performance fixed soon.
I might make an offtopic post about my feelings on AI.
I have a lot to say and many people might not like it but they need to hear it.

Not to mention these new age fullstack developers that come rolling out of some bootcamp, thinking they know everything there is to know about web applications.
Then they deploy to production and forget crucial details like multi level reverse proxy caching (Varnish as L1 cache + Apache Traffic Server as L2 cache) and proxy hole punching for file delivery (e.g. not serving files from Node.js).
or what about database caching? Are they using ProxySQL? Do they have database read replicas, so the whole application doesn’t slowdown during database updates/writes?
Handing over cash to AWS/GCP thinking that will solve anything besides buying Bezos’ a new yacht.
Truly idiocratic times.
I wish they were more open in their development, like Wikimedia is. Then volunteers like me could solve this.
its not even just the interface and UI that are enshittified… the content quality has dropped quite a bit over time. As if some low-rent factories were churning out mass production PMVs…
and folks know there are other performers and studios besides Angela White or Mike Adriano, right?
At least they fixed some of the issues since the change, for a while blocking tags wasn’t working (what’s with all the PMV’s of guys jerking themselves off over another PMV?). I still don’t like the new website…
This is the old version of the site. It only contains videos released before the new site launched, 28 of November. Most functionality is retained in terms of saving videos to playlists and downloading. The two sites will not sync likes or playlists. There are a few videos that have been taken down or were never approved on the new site, that are still up on the old site.
yeah, the search is totally broken as well. If you want to search for vids with a certain song it’ll only show the most recent uploads on the site no matter how many times I hit “apply”
