Try Handy FW4 NOW!

We have made Interactive VR Porn: Sex Toy Scripts & Haptic scripts work seamlessly with Handy’s latest Firmware v4 in the DeoVR app, Haptics Connect and SLR WebXR in Meta Quest Browser and Apple Vision Pro Safari.

What’s New?
• Instant Script Playback: No more “script loading time” — the action starts immediately.
• Instantly toggle between manual control and script mode.

We’re also exploring on-the-fly script modifications (think “climax mode” and more) in future updates. Just make sure you’ve updated your Handy to the latest firmware, and dive in!

Note: Since Firmware v4 is still in Beta, we recommend reporting any issues you encounter. If necessary, you can revert to the previous stable version.
So far works flawlessly.

It is worth noting that Handy still considers version 4 of their firmware a beta release. Users accept there may be issues with the new version.

I’ll switch back once it’s exited beta, ran into issues with scripts loading on FW4.

Tried FW4 not to long ago, had nothing but trouble with it, went back to FW3, downgrade wasn’t exactly as easy as it’s supposed to be either, so yeah not gonna trouble myself with this again until it’s out of beta

There is a thread where people have left feedback since September last year. Note that the firmware has been updated several times since then. Last version is about a month old.

A lot has been about random disconnects since the script seems to be loaded like streamed video i.e., in smaller chunks or something, instead of the whole script at once. Changes in how stroke lengths and speed limits are handled and a more mechanical feel are other things being commented on. People really like the fast server connect and super fast loading of scripts though.

This update is available for early access via the Staging feature flag branch on https://new.handyfeeling.com/#/ota-optin . If you want to try these changes, you can opt-in there and test the improvements.

thx. looking into it now

The climax mode will be a game changer! Can’t wait. It’s seemed like one of those things that seems obvious conceptually but I imagine it would be complicated to implement in practice.

I kinda like the new feel with the Handy on the new beta firmware, but even with the latest ScriptPlayer, I was having some disconnects, and had to do a lot of loading and reloading. The Handy has always connected pretty poorly on and off for me, though, so I dunno. My player crashed from some video type, and then reconnecting the handy took some patience. Overall it feels smoother than it used to be.

So far works flawlessly with the latest version

tried FW 4.0.13 with DeoVR on SLR and custom Scripts today.
no issues, worked flawless for me

Ive tested FW4 pretty extensively now with the stuff I use anyway.

Its pretty damn good at this point. Only issues I encountered is when switching between scripts frequently it will stop pulling new scripts and behave strangely, I think this was reported in the other thread. Its quickly fixed by unplugging the handy and plugging back in.

Second issue is the new firmware isn’t stopping multiple places from sending funscript instructions. So you can’t pivot between different streams without disconnecting the other one.

Not limited to just the FW4 but the “new and improved” onboarding app. If you need to make adjustments to the settings, it forces you to go back into bluetooth mode for some reason even if the app has saved your wifi settings. So if you need to calibrate and change your min/max stroke settings, you are forced to switch to the less useful BT mode.

I’ve also had issues with scripts not unloading between apps or between script loadings. But as Vlad said, a quick unplug will fix it.

Nice. Thx for sharing. Checking with handy devs to get it smooth :+1:

@pcyber @VladTheImplier That’s great to hear. :smile:

Let me know if you run into anything specific. With steps to reproduce the issue or logs we may be able to pinpoint and fix any remaining issues.

Thought I’d chime in with my experience on Quest 3 with FW4. I’ve updated then reverted back twice now, once a few months ago and again within the last 24 hours. Same problems both times. The instant script playback is the only good change I experienced. Issues are as follows:

  • sometimes local scripts do not play at all(yes they are labeled correctly)
  • if they do work, the script pattern feels weaker and often feels off(not timing), almost like a CD skipping.

*these last 2 things could be a DeoVR/SLR issue but just wanted to provide everything…

  • controlling stroke length on unit and DeoVR/SLR, going from one video to another, the unit will sometimes revert to default stroke length.
  • also for some reason the the “return to base” feature that can be hot keyed to a controller only works on FW4 Bluetooth and not WIFI.

FW3 has worked pretty much flawlessly for me on DeoVR/SLR. Definitely looking forward to FW4 though!

Keep up the great work:)

after longe use of fw4 i also have some problems to report.

  1. sometimes using slr/deovr it does not recognice the loaded script. i then set to manual and back to script and the script plays. this happens when changing the vid.
  2. the most anoing problem for me is that on the most scripts special pmv scripts at the end of the script when you asume to maybe cum the handy is beginning to move wired. almost no strokes just slow short whatever. the same with almost any script i dont know why…
maybe i revert because of this

Hi

Could you send me the failed script? Then we can investigate more in detailed.

i post more when i use the handy and have the problem…
