[Video] Bikers Delight - A little side-project

There is this super hot PMV from TheBoneMan - Biker Babes with this super boring song .
I’ve got inspired for a matching song by a YouTube channel, took the song used there, mixed it up to a longer version (this up-mixing is done with the help of an AI) so it fits to the video length of the PMV and put those together.

I keep it all vague here - no preview screens, I just don’t wanna kill any possible goosebumps moments for you - if you are just a little like me, you will get some. :smiling_face_with_horns:

After scripting (first sketch) this clip - probably this was the most fun to script clip ever for me - there was this idea of mixing content from the above mentioned YouTube channel into the PMV, I just had to, and that video editing was at least as fun as the scripting.

That’s the short story of this little clip here, a side-project, not meant for pleasuring, just for watching, my suggestion:
Setup your stereo, put this clip on the largest screen you can get, turn up the volume - your neighbors will bring you some cake for that.

Of course the song is an imporatnt part of the clip - and of course music is always a matter of taste, let’s just hope you have a good taste. ;-)

If you have half as much fun watching as I had putting it together (and watching), you’re up for 6 minutes and 33 seconds (main clip) of quite the entertainment, please enjoy! :sign_of_the_horns:

Sure thing, 4K upscale @ 60 fps.

About the scripting:
As mentioned, first sketch done, will take some testing and finetuning, the script will be for the original clip without these edits - but with the same song - so you don’t have to worry, that babe will be on display full-time, … coming soon.

The audio cuts out at 6:31 (seems to be a “feature” of the YouTube reupload of the music, the original actually has an ending). You should probably fade it out, or use the original track.

Not a fan of AI generated music. Not just on a principle/morality basis, also because the models aren’t good enough yet.
Generating samples to use in music production would be a valid use of generative AI as a tool, but songs like this is just slop for the sake of slop.

oh my gosh this is my exact kink, cant wait for the final product :D

Oh, c’mon on, you can’t be serious here, … or is it just every song that’s created with the help of an AI is slop to you?
Can you name/link me an AI-assisted song that’s good in your opinion?

Really, there is a lot of AI-slop out there, maybe you could say this song is too perfect, or you simply don’t like it, but ‘slop for the sake of slop’, no way, with music - taste totally matters, but to call a great song ‘slop’ just because AI is involved is just wrong.
It has a great vibe and energy, and it has more heart and soul than a lot of cheap songs from some casting-bands - I really don’t want to convince anybody to like it, people like what they like, they don’t like what they don’t like, there is no reason needed, but there are worlds between ‘don’t like’ and ‘slop’.

I even think that this term is used waaaay to easy nowadays, and it leads to that sort of stigmatization some scripters are facing, but without a closer - and unprejudiced/open-minded - look you’ll never know if it’s slop or if the AI is used for what they are and how they should (IMHO) be used - as tools.

Btw.:

No idea if you remember these times, but let me adjust your post just a little bit - I hope you don’t mind :slightly_smiling_face: :

Kraftwerk, anyone?
Synth-pop, … Depeche Mode, …

In ten years (or less), nobody will care if a song is done with the help of an AI, like nowadays nobody cares about if an instrument comes from a synthesiser, or the whole song, if voices are tuned.

Again, not convincing anybody to like this song, … just a few thoughts of mine.

It will take a while, the first sketch didn’t passed the play-test, I was focusing too much on the drums, it’s missing the energy of the whole scene and music.
Sometimes that happens and I start anew, double the work, but I won’t release anything I’m not happy with.

I am serious, Draugr Beatz makes slop with far too little polish and it shows in the quality of the generated vocals and structure of the music and its soundscape.

Every song by Neuro-sama and Evil Neuro, as well as many of their covers.
Are they fully generated by prompting generative AI? No.
Are they improved by being AI-assisted? Absolutely.

The song isn’t too perfect, it lacks polish and doesn’t attempt to fix the flaws of the generation model. I don’t like it, but it’s because of the qualities that lack intent and interesting ideas. Draugr Beatz’ whole schtick is tired, uninteresting and shallow (I grew up with remnants of the culture being ignorantly parodied).

I don’t like it and it is slop, by all reasonable intentions of the label, and the two are separately true. You and many others do like it, and it is slop. I would suggest you look into their discography and see if I came to the conclusion on a whim or by judging their overall approach.

The works of these artists had interesting and novel intention and usage of modern tools. It is possible to use generative AI as a tool in one’s belt as I mentioned and as is done by the Neuro-sama team and its collaborators.
I would commend Draugr Beatz for their commentary on the themes, music production techniques, compositional ideas, historical research etc. if such elements were present and interestingly executed. They are not.
I hold their music to the standard I judge any art by. My comments on the sloppy nature is to encourage a more interesting approach to using such tools.

For context, I have given constructive feedback and actionable advice for using generative AI to create music on here. I did not say to stop using AI because AI is evil. I said to work with the tool in ways that complement its flaws:

Oh, I did want to point out a thing about this comparison.

This is how synthesizers are used.
Synthesizers are instruments.
They are used to generate audio to use in music production.

This is not how AI is used by people like Draugr Beatz.
AI models that generate full songs are not instruments.
They are used to generate audio to avoid music production.

If you use AI as instruments, you are doing what I’m saying is a valid use of it as a tool and I respect and encourage further exploration of that endeavor.

I’d say that’s the whole point, that’s how we can break it down to how differently we see/look at music.
To me, music can - but doesn’t have to be - art.

If I feel like having a burger, I go to the burger restaurant and order a burger, french fries and a coke, I don’t ask about the name of the cow, if the potatoes had a lucky life or from which fountain the water for the ice cubes in the coke came from.

I consume music, I enjoy it, I don’t analyze it.
I don’t care about a discography, biography, if the band has something to say / transport a message, their background, historical correctness … to me, all that matters is what reaches my ears and if it triggers some emotions, a vibe, a feel.

It sounds good to me, it feels good to me, it makes me feel good = it is good.
That’s my formula.

You have some points there, ‘soundscape’, ‘intent and interesting ideas’, ‘reasonable intentions of the label’, ‘discography’, ‘overall approach’, music production techniques, compositional ideas, historical research.
None of what you say there is wrong, but to me - it simply doesn’t matter.

I hope I don’t sound ignorant, I’ve really tried it, I’ve listened to this song like 3 times again with your criticism in mind, I don’t hear any unpolished part, the vocals sounds great to me.

I got from the Script-Game-Event that you probably have a much more professional look at music as a simple ‘consumer’ like me, and maybe a ‘cuisinier de haute cuisine’ cannot enjoy a simple burger, in the end the question is: Do we really need to call a burger ‘slop’, just because it’s fast-food?
To me, this specific song (and I only talk about this specific song) is a really yummy burger.

Nevertheless, thanks, it was an interesting read and helps to understand that point of view of yours - it’s not mine, but that doesn’t matter - your first post left a little the impression to me like the too easily used ‘AI=slop’ comment.

Never heard before, a quick youtube search came out with something that sounds like the chipmunks. :joy:
