I’ve been using a Super Lube Multi-Use Synthetic Oil ISO 100 and applied it to my Handy with a little QTIP. After doing this, I used the handy there was a grainy sound (like theres sand in it) when the Handy operates at higher speeds. Most likely it was due to me using this lube. Anyone got any idea how to fix it or if its bad for the device? What grease do you recommend to buy to apply?
A lot of people use “Super Lube” brand but there are many types of it. Most use the synthetic grease for lubricating the main lead screw, popular ones being part #92003 or #21030. This isn’t the only brand you can use, any good grease recommended for a 3D printer will most likely work well. I’m no expert on viscosity but suspect that the oil may be a little too thin. Super Lube 92003 and 21030 both have an NGLI (thickness rating of grease) of grade 2 in case that helps in comparing.
Check the formulation if you’re concerned about warranty, but I’ve used a special grease used for lubricating mechanical parts of auto sunroofs by Mercedes-Benz with no problems. Extremely durable stuff.
Yeah I use super lube 21030
