I’m currently making a Mercy comp for my next scripting project and the more I add the longer the total length gets. I realized I have enough material to make this essentially as long as I want, an hour or more if I really wanted. I was originally shooting for the 15-20 min mark but I am already double that even after filtering out only the highest/higher quality animations. Due to this I just wanted to check in with others I guess to see at what length most people consider before pretty much dismissing it for being too long? I’d love to hear some opinions of others to see what video length they prefer?
I would say that has no correct answer, it will always depend from person to person, i doubt there are a lot of people that would dismiss it from being to long, but if you are unsure and want to have options for both sides of the argument, you can always do it like a faphero type structure with stages, make each stage like around 5-10 or so minutes (or more, it’s up to you) and once you’re done you can just cut the video and funscript by each of the stages, and with that you would have both the full compilation and each individual stage separately.
My ideal compilation video length is between 8-15 minutes personally. But I also tend to jump around a lot between videos, so i’m probably in the minority of not really minding dealing with short single video 30s-2min lengths.
most cock heros back then are 45 min to an hour. i dont mind 3 hours like overwatch kings row but that just means i have to go back to the same video multiple times before i start a new one.
Would also clock in at 30 minutes, depending on how it´s structured. If there´s a lot of slow teasing before, you can get this up to an hour.
Problem with longer videos is, that as long as you don´t skip to the middle instantly people will likely not see the end of the video at all.
Plus, but that can only be me, in most cases I would lose interest in a video after a while and skip to something else. On well structured cock heroes and similar videos it´s a bit different though, because you have a clear buildup, but I never got those 2-3 hour ones, even in those cases.
If you have so much material, simply put the excess stuff away for other projects, it´s not lost, just repurposed^^
Videos can be too short to try and are left unwatched, not finding other videos/scripts with the same vibe. Videos can never be too long to continue where you last came.
15 min at least for compilation. Shorter and it’s just a PMV mashup IMO.
I just have to roll my eyes at the avalanche of “compilation”, “hypno”, and “brainwash” videos that are 1-3 minutes and mostly a PMV. Aint no one getting their brain melted to Kim Petras and 2:35 of 3-panel tiktok dances… come the fuck on, man
