What Tutorial Should I Make Next? Share Your Ideas!

Hello everyone! :waving_hand:

Some of you might remember that in the past I made a couple of tutorials (How to script tutorial and How to create previews) — from scripting guides to small text tutorials on how to create gifs or short video previews for your content. I’ve always enjoyed sharing what I know, because teaching and helping others improve is something I really care about. And honestly, I think that’s what makes a community strong: when we share knowledge and help each other get better.

So… I’d like to make more tutorials again!
But before I just dive into something, I thought it’d be smarter to ask you:
:backhand_index_pointing_right: What kind of tutorial would you like to see?

To give you a better idea, here are some examples of the directions I could take:

  • Scripting-related stuff (though I can’t go too deep like in my full video tutorials, since those take a lot of time to create)
  • Presentation tips — like making your work look polished and appealing
  • Video choice — how to pick good material to work with
  • Or even things a little more “outside” of direct scripting but still useful for creators

It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out and need help with the basics, or if you’ve been scripting for a while and want to dive deeper into advanced stuff. No idea is too small or too random — if it comes to your mind, just share it!

  • I can create text-based tutorials :writing_hand:
  • Or I can also add short video explanations if that helps :movie_camera:
  • Everyone is welcome to give ideas, no matter your level!

And if someone posts an idea you also like, just hit the  on their post — that way I’ll know multiple people are interested in the same thing.

I’m really looking forward to your suggestions and can’t wait to see what topics come up. Let’s make some cool tutorials together and help the community grow!

Cheers,
Slibowitz

Hey!

Just now found this but I think there is real value here:

Learning how to identify what actually makes a scene good for scripting would be incredibly useful.

Even beyond that:

  • discovering content
  • sourcing workflows
  • what tools/search methods people use
  • how experienced creators sift through large amounts of content efficiently

Smaller creators especially don’t always have a community feeding them recommendations, so a lot of time gets spent manually digging through hundreds of videos trying to find something worthwhile.

Honestly, I feel like my own workflow is still lacking there because sourcing can take so long sometimes.

Script Requests helps occasionally, but I think a tutorial/discussion around sourcing and identifying “script-friendly” content would benefit a lot of people.

Sorry I’m late!

Hey SaekoM!

Thank you for the suggestion! This is really cool suggestion and would make a nice tutorial. It’s something I would be up to do. I made something similar already for my Patreon community, where I explain my workflow in picking content and explain what I pay attention to and why I choose, what I choose. It’s nothing that needs to be “hidden” or “private”, I’ll happily share it. But I can extend it a bit more with the points you made.

Are there any more points that come to your mind you’d like me to cover in this tutorial? No need to think of it now, maybe something comes up tomorrow or so.

Same for everybody else who is reading this. If you are also interested in a tutorial like this, let me know what specific things you’d like to see in that. I see how I can include it.

Thank you again for the suggestion. I think I can make it work.

What comes to mind that could be valuable:

  • What makes you instantly skip a video?
  • Common sourcing mistakes newer creators make
  • Identifying “false positives” — scenes that look hot visually but script poorly
  • How much scripting potential do you need before committing to a full download/watch?

Thank you for the points. These are very strong and good topics to cover. I will definitely add them.
If everything goes well, I can start on the tutorial in the days and have it out Saturday / Sunday, but no promise.
