These lags make it almost impossible for me to view and modify the funscript by comparing the video

Yes! Either try enabling or disabling “force hardware decoding”.
Find it under → Options → Preferences → Player → Force hardware decoding

create i-frame version of the video file using funexpander. It’s a MUST for accurate scripting.

Or even better, use IFramer by CertainlyWicked with GPU support to create i-frame versions of your videos:

Turning this option on and off didn’t make it any better, but thanks for the answer anyway

I’ll give it a try, hopefully creating the i-frame version won’t be too slow
