I think Handy 2 should get twist down the line. But I don’t know about the other stuff. Will it be too complicated to add roll or pitch?
Twist is ‘theoretically’ doable since you can remove the receiver and swap it out with one thats twist compatible, it would just need power and data to sync up with the device. The FUNSR is an example of a device that is a single axis stroker and you can buy it with or without the twist receiver. I bought an OSR and slapped in my own after market twist receiver, its the easiest upgrade.
Roll and pitch would be nigh impossible without just making an entirely new device. Twist is just adding a spinning element to the up/down stroke, it doesn’t change the direction or the movement of the stroke. Roll and pitch are two entirely new axises that would require tilting the receiver or the entire device. That would basically require a separate device that tilts the ENTIRE handy since it sounds like you’re talking about it as if it were an addon.
In a Handy Q&A it was said to be a planned future addon that will work with Handy 2, however it will need to be powered separately.
edit: looks like in the Handy thread they specified 2026
The only way I’d buy a new Handy is if it had an additional axis. I have no motivation to do a DYI setup and don’t even know of another easy to use stroker with multi-axis that is all in one and reliable, unfortunately.
SR1 is probably the easiest to use. I don’t have one but out of all the current options, this is the simplest one that has an additional axis.
It will get Twist/Spinning (I think they’re two words for the same thing) in 2026. It was originally planned for 2025, but they’ve faced slight delays pushing everything back a little.
The first twist/spinning module will be presets, so it can’t be controlled via a script. But script control will be implemented in a second version. This was also planned for 2026 but it might’ve been pushed to 2027 now.
As far as roll/pitch, I don’t think that’s on the cards at all right now - from what I understand after speaking with them. My assumption - and this is coming straight from my imagination - is that the demand isn’t big enough to justify the engineering cost. The biggest sensation comes from an up/down single axsis stroke. The second biggest sensation comes from twist/spin. I personally don’t think pitch and roll adds anything, and it’s not something I want them to spend time on. I also don’t want to complicate the device, I want it to be stripped down and quick to use. I have no idea if my usecase is in the minority or not tho.
What I do think is that the handy 2’s spinning attachment will make spinning mainstream, and when it gets script support, most scripts on here will probably have spinning scripts as well.
