Connecting a wired device to MFP?

I apologize if this is a really common question. I underestimated just how convenient the Handy was for connecting to players. I recently bought the SR6, and was caught off-guard when there wasn’t a big “connect SR6” button when I opened MultiFunPlayer. Can someone give me the tl;dr on how connecting a device like the SR6 works on MFP?

If you are using USB cable, you should install a USB to serial driver, then you can choose serial.

I have been reading up on the device, in case I will make myself an OSR2.
