I think our only choice is to wait for Heresphere to release their Q2 port app, which is apparently coming this weekend for beta testing.
DeoVR say they’ll support DLNA as long as it’s “functional” but then immediately broke it in their most recent update, so I think they’re done. Time to find a new player.
They didn’t break it, they removed the functionality.
Thanks for the note on Heresphere - will keep my eye on them. Just bought Pigasus, and while a nice UI, sadly they don’t do web, so still looking for that all-on-one solution.
I was finally able to fix the issue by completely uninstalling DeoVR and reinstalling it. Now DLNA works as it did. But it’s a stark reminder to migrate to a better player ASAP. I’ll be looking out for Heresphere.
In my UI it went missing too, so I tried a few things to get it going without the DeoVR DLNA feature.
I installed SideLoad on my Quest2 and hoped I could find an older Version of DeoVR, but nope. I tried to get the scripts running with XBVR but finally I ended up also reinstalling DeoVR from the Oculus Store.
Then I saw that you can just turn DLNA back on in the options.
Now I’m confused, because it went missing in the UI, and it looks like it did not only for me, so I assumed I got the Update. Did you guys check the Options in the DeoVR App?
I had to reinstall the entire app before DLNA would work, even after enabling it. Seems to be working fine now but it’s obvious this critical feature (for me) is an afterthought for the devs as they try to turn DeoVR into a lead magnet for SLR. I’m hoping the port version of Heresphere is as good as I want it to be.
i made an account just to share this. i installed DeoVR v11.9 about 30 min ago via sidequest, but i couldn’t get adb pull working to backup the apk from my quest 2, and in my frustration i took forever to realize that sidequest conveniently also has a button to just backup apks. this is that backup, except i renamed it, as to not be a string of random numbers/letters. cheers fellas Zippyshare.com -
damn good first post. I encourage everyone to try out Heresphere - I left DeoVR for it. Took a bit to get through the menus and mapping controls, but it was totally worth it. Picture quality is better and the dev actually seems to have a brain. There will also be a revamp later this year that will make it much more usable from a UI perspective.
you can set up a timestamp server heresphere and sync funscripts when paired with an app like scriptplayer or multifunplayer right now. later on, we might see standalone support without those 2 apps but i’m not sure.
