Ferrari in an Alley: Why Content Can’t Keep Up with the Tech?

I’ve been following the funscript scene for a long time, and honestly, the average quality still leaves much to be desired. The market is flooded with ‘copy-and-paste’ scripts—ultra-short, censored anime/hentai content that ends before you can even get engaged. They lack soul. Another major issue is the pacing; many feel like a ‘jackhammer’.

We need boldness, surprise, and that emotional weight that makes all the difference. Today, we have incredible hardware, but the content just isn’t up to par. Having a next-gen device to run a generic script is like owning a Ferrari just to drive it through a narrow alley. The engine is powerful, but we’re starving for high-quality fuel.

Preference is subjective, I couldn’t find my personal niche of content so I started making scripts myself. You can do the same if you have some free time, scripting isn’t really all that difficult to learn, just time consuming.

Your analogy doesn’t work because you don’t understand the problem. You bought a car and you think you’re just asking us for higher quality fuel. We’re not a gas station selling fuel to run your car. We’re the construction works building roads for your car to drive on.

You can buy a car, you can fucking buy fuel, you can’t just buy a road, we have to build it.

As for the market, we make what we(the scripters) want or what the market is asking for. If we didn’t want it or the market didn’t ask for it we wouldn’t be making it.

Personally, there are some creators who make scripts that I thoroughly enjoy, but I do feel that there is sometimes a lack in variety.

There is a very small group of people who actually make scripts, so they decide the market. They exist in a community that was small to begin with. Typically the ones who give them meaningful feedback are scripters themselves. Sure, they’ll take feedback from script enjoyers, but it’s not as meaningful as it is when it comes from someone who has been scripting for a while. Over time, they adopt the recommendations of their peers and we find ourselves in a somewhat homogenized space. Don’t get me wrong, there are certainly those who would script the same video in very different ways, but until more people start to take up scripting with the desire to mix things up, and possibly a larger variety of tools are developed, we’ll be here. I’m fine with that, I like here, but I sort of understand what you’re getting at.

I started scripting for myself a bit for this very reason, but I just don’t have the same amount of time to dedicate to it that others might. That’s why I likely won’t be releasing anymore scripts because I don’t have the option to commit to really honing the craft.

Anyway, I’d like to hear examples of what you think would make scripts better, if you have any in mind. I think there are some amazing scripts being released from years ago to recently, but having a better picture of what you’re actually looking for could be informative to anyone who might be willing to try it out.

You are not wrong. Especially about the “jackhammer” part. The problem is, we can only script what the market gives us. And a lot of video are “jackhammer” videos. I am not a fan of these as well. When I got into scripts, I loved these videos and thought that’s what I need. But over time, with better Onaholes and scripts got better, I discovered it doesn’t need to be that fast. Slower, teasing and build-up scripts work as well – even better.

I agree. But, how should we implement this in normal videos? This is something you can do in PMVs, Cock Heros and so. Videos where you have creative freedom. You have limited creativity in normal videos, because everybody expects you to follow the action – rightfully so.

So you would need to find these videos that allow this creativity. Finding these is not easy. I tried ^^ I wanted to make some more slow and teasing kind of videos, but I rarely found them. I always find the usual “jackhammer” videos.

People also need to learn that not every video makes a good script. There are great videos, but they make terrible scripts. Often too fast. How do you want to make through a 35 minute video with a avg. speed of ~ 300 - 350? I couldn’t. And I am not sure how much I would enjoy it.

When you want to stick to “real” video (not animated, PMVs etc.), you have to rely mostly on blowjob videos. These are often a bit slower, with a build up. Or JOI videos, but these are a bit more niche. The rest? Mostly full on jackhammer.

@lamp Is right. If you want to change something in that regard, you have to do it on your own. And that’s not me saying “just do it yourself, if you don’t like what we give you”. It’s like a “be the one who changes it”. I started scripting because of it. I wanted to make something different. I saw the potential in these, but was unhappy with the content during that time. So I made my own.

I would really like to see your work; perhaps it’s what I’m looking for. Could you send me a link?

I’m a Python and C# programmer, and I didn’t understand your analogy. In my post, I wasn’t referring to the software used to produce the funscripts, whether manual or automatic; I was referring to the source content, the videos, upon which the funscripts are being made. Do you understand?

I believe that in a very short time, the coding of funscripts will be fully automated; the (human) coder will simply have to adjust a few parameters. What makes the difference, whether as it is today or in the future, is the content, the base videos being used for the work. Soon, this video base will also be produced automatically; at this point, the differentiating factor will be the creativity and good taste of the prompt generators and material selectors.

Slibowitz, I love your work! Congratulations! I agree with you. The problem lies mainly in the content (there are also bad codings), that is, the base videos on which the funscripts are made. If the base isn’t good, there’s no way the content can be good! I believe the solution is either to choose good content or to create it. For creation, there are many sources of written scripts and AI-powered video generators. I believe that’s the way to go.

I believe one of the main issues is time, as well as engagement. A lot of scripters use the Patreon model to generate revenue for their scripts. Because patrons provide a constant revenue stream, they expect content to be churned out consistently.

As a result, a scripter goes to the popular tags on Rule34.video, scripts the first ten 10-second videos they see, releases them on Patreon, and increases revenue. The time required is minimal about 2–3 minutes per video at most, and this approach lends itself well to motion tracking compared to IRL videos. On average the hardest video IMO to script are 2D Flat porn studio videos and JAV. They have numerous camera angle changes, don’t lend well to motion tracking at all, perspective changes, etc. As you see there are very few of these scripts made, so there are TONS of content from all the major porn studios unscripted.

On the other hand, the learning curve, skill, and time required to create truly unique experiences demand a significant commitment. For example, you could make unique multi-axis scripts, but a 15-second “K-pop demon hunter squat FUCK” clip gets more engagement, takes far less time to produce, and delivers the same level of engagement anyway, lol.

I have heard this complaint for years now. I have also created these mini-clips, when I first started scripting because I enjoyed them, one, but also they made learning scripting a bit easier. Nothing will change with it. You’re going to open up faptap.net or the Scripts > Free Scripts or Scripts > Paid Scripts category and you’re going to see 2B or Widowmaker getting fucked by blender cock #45060349509 for 7 seconds. Its simple, easy to do, and theres a market for short form, animated content.

What will make people create more unique experiences is simply doing it for the love of it and that’s it. If someone drops a 60-minute, fully scripted multi-axis videoespecially shout them out, drop a donation, share it, like it, comment on it. That is what will make them create more. Sometimes you’ll find a great video/script and the only time people are commenting is when the video link goes down.

Thank you very much!

Correct. But many think that every video makes a good script, which is not the case. This is something you will see with a bit of experience. At first I thought the same and scripted whatever. But I realized that the script isn’t even that enjoyable, despite the video being good.

Eventually, this will be the way in the future. AI videos are gotten better and better and at some point, they may even be better than normal videos. Just speculations for now of course. But imagine we could create a video with AI that’s exactly perfect for a funscript. Not too fast, not too slow, a build up, some slower relaxing sections, a more intense finale section, with a slow down in the end.

Absolutely. Need to mention VR content as well, since it falls in the same kind of production level.

A 30 minute professional video takes me around 5 - 6 hours to script. Compare this to an animated video that is 5 minutes long or often less. And then my thread would get around the same views, likes and downloads as the animated video. Would I want to spend up to 6 hours again on a similar video? Probably not. I would also go in that direction and script something that takes me way less, but gets around the same level of engagement.

The whole engagement thing is actually pretty important and maybe a reason we don’t see much “fancy” videos or scripts. Numbers don’t lie and if a creator sees that his work of 6 hours gets less engagement than a work of 1 hour, then he feels demotivated. Spending hours and hours on creating content, then maybe get one comment that often asks for a free source… Well, that’s not really motivating for the creator.

Yes! That’s something we have to get better it. We have to highlight this special work and the commitment somebody puts into something. Not just download the script and done. At least drop a , give a thank you, give some feedback for the script.

This is a good example: Cock Hero Heavenly (Hard) by flyingcactus [ScriptGame - The Gate Opens] - Scripts / Free Scripts - EroScripts

An entry for our community event. Video is about an hour long. He scripted it fully by hand, offered full multi axis and even versions for single stroker. On top of that, hard mode versions. Up until now, ~ 2.7k views and 51 likes. Estimated amount of time he needed creating this, I would guess 10 hours in total, maybe a bit more.

He is that kind of person you described, he just loves doing it and enjoys the process and sharing it with us. But not everybody is like that. Some like to see to some engagement.

I don’t want to point a finger at any animated content or content creator. I enjoy animated content as well and since we started the events, I got much more into it. There is lot you can do and I love the creativity some creators put into their work. It’s really impressive. The content itself is not the problem. The “problem” is, that we as a community need to engage better with the creators here. And if somebody puts an extra amount in their work, in their presentation, in their content choice, in how they script, we need to highlight this more.

The problem with the short anime videos is that its usualy a short scene looped, jackhammer style is on that the easiest to make a bit longer, but even then, 2mins is too long, so you end up with a lot of those short videos, with very dull scripts, because these are extremely easy to make.

This is why for anime/animated content it usualy ends up being a PMV, as there you can put a mixture of these together.

But yeah, i do agree that the ratio of short to long videos is a bit off, but its inevitable to happen. A 10min script takes on average 5x as long as a 2min one, regardless of complexity. The 2min scripts on that have the benefit that for multi-axis you only need to script 2mins here. Which even with 5 axes in total often still takes less time than a 10min linear script.

The chosen video matter a lot, and its hard to find good ones that enable a lot of multi axis action. These are usualy slower videos, which make the scripting portion a bit harder as well (jackhammer action is usualy easy as its 0-100 with only timing that becomes critical).

It gets worse on that, since in MFP i havent found an easy way to make scripts connect to each other. So once a specific video ends, that it can go to the next automaticly. Which in this case could at least add some variety
Note! this does also need to be able to skip time beyond the first action, or skip empty portions. Its not an easy: just go to the next and start at action. action density matters since a full action script should generaly continue at a similar pace

Luckily im working on making some multi axis content, but im lazy so this often takes a long time. But if i make something, it always going to be longer content (or something that supports it).
I havent released some of this content though, as for example the noodledude cock hero has a lot of videos that already had their own multiaxis version made, i just made the last missing one and then combined these, but as im not the author for 80% of the content, i havent bothered releasing that (also because some scripts needed adjustments here as some actions were out of place, or some sections were too empty of action).

While this is true, it is worth to note that people generaly are willing to pay more for better quality content. Length is a factor that matters on that. 1x10min in a month, vs a 2min video every week, makes the 10min video often worth more as these usualy end up being the better quality as more context in actions happens.
This again also works for multi axis. It might be less content, but the quality is higher. The problem is mainly: you need to make 1 good piece of content every month, and just finding a good video to script for this is hard on its own.

But on that: if someone is making that much content, why dont they let AI at least set a base script for them? Especialy the multi axis parts if some of it can be generated can save a huge amount of time.

AI might not be good enough on its own, but for adjusting afterward its a very efficient method. As even if you only made the linear portion yourself (which i would recommend here), it allows you to test it in multiaxis from the start. While AI might be too detailed for linear motion where devices will interpreter it as stutter, for multi axis you can generaly smooth out all the stutter portions, and get a decent starting point. Sure it skipped some nuances, but you should notice this very quickly upon testing, and therefor can also adjust it while you are working on the main axis.

I think the real problem is that for multi axis, its usualy just an OSR2+. And for your ferrari this means a basic highway, not a circuit. So its still not perfect. But again, maybe the AI generated base does just enough here?

The more you can sell your content, the more likely an SR6 becomes approachable for purchase, or some people will donate something extra for that.

I think the main reason this doesnt happen is that many still just see it as a paid hobby. More videos on that is more fun to work on.

Wow! Thank you for the shout-out.

To the points you were discussing: Yes, I script out of curiosity, challenging fun and to create some scripts for my personal tastes, that are a bit underrepresented. And I’m still playing around with stuff to find out, what effects it has. But it sure adds to the motivation to see that my little niche experiments aren’t going completely unnoticed - and by the likes of some scripting grand-masters like yourself, no less ^^:

So I third your calls for more positive and honest community engagement. It’s understandable, that throwing things that took you a lot of effort out into the ether without any feedback can be a crushing experience. Imagine a huge rock concert with pyros going off for the big finale and then there’s simply… silence…
So if you enjoy somebody’s work, express it .

From my experience, this is not really true yet. Mainly because the timings aren’t accurate enough. And if I have to both work on the position and timing, it becomes a full re-script. So the AI output at best serves as a coarse overview of where there’s faster or slower actions.

Also, it exacerbates the following problem you mention even further, since the video has to have certain qualities to it for the AI models to be able to deduce the movement at least within the right ball-park. I am positive though, that with time and improved hybrid models and algorithms, the tedious parts of scripting can be significantly off-loaded.

Gentlemen, there’s an obvious solution we’re not seeing:

Seriously though, finding videos that offer both variation for scripting, as well as a variety of different kinds of videos to not get predictable and monotone and being enjoyable at the same time is quite the challenge.

To be honest… I hope not. Not that today’s porn industry produces much high quality content that has much soul to it. But using AI will certainly not put any more soul into it than the learning data already contains. Actual artistry and therefore creativity is needed for that. So in a cynical way, I’m hoping the slop will create a counter-movement that actually prioritizes the humanity in their productions.

True! The hardest part is not the scripting, but finding good videos to script. There are plenty of videos to choose, but I would say only 2 out of 10 videos make a good script. The rest is not suited for scripting.

You are welcome ^^

We had that discussion once about a reaction plugin. There is plugin to enable reactions to a post. I am in favor of adding this to see how it works and if it adds more engagement. I get some people are more shy and don’t want to post. Totally understandable. I think a reaction plugin can solve it in some way. It allows some kind of expression, without being exposed. And the reactions help. I use reaction a lot on my Discord to see what my community likes to see. More reactions = they liked it. Less reactions = they didn’t like it that much and I have to think of something else next time.

Sorry for ping, but @VladTheImplier maybe we can try it out. If it’s not working, then we can disable it again.

Link: Reactions | Discourse - Civilized Discussion

We of course we have to see if that can be modified, to filter out some of the “negative” reactions.

I would be curious to hear what you guys think about the plugin. Yay or nay? Useful or not? Helps engagement or not?

Single axis, yes 2 out of 10 videos. but multi axis more videos become suitable as rotation can still be performed. But even then, 3 of the 10 at best.

Longer videos are generaly better suitable though as even hammering there with incorrect lengths can be scripted without feeling out of place or too weak. I would say a minimum of 5mins of action is needed in those cases. A PMV is usualy around 3+ minutes with high variety, not realistic for real action, but a good starting point.

Your analogy was confusing and incorrect to begin with. You compared it to driving a Ferrari in an alleyway and said you wanted high-quality fuel. Do we sell fuel(whatever you meant) or an alleyway(whatever you meant)? Cause Im referring to building a road for your car like making a funscript for a device. I don’t fuel your device, I just designed the twists and turns on the road its driving on.

Anyways, I was not referring to the software, I was referring to the scripters themselves. In my opinion, software would be the machines used to build the road. AI would just be self-driven machines used to build said road. And if you want that, you can literally just plug videos into the various AI scripters yourself. But if you’re trying to create a discussion on this, the assumption is you’re talking to the actual human scripters and not the AI.

Anyways, when it comes to the content, I don’t make these videos. I make scripts. If you’re complaining about our choice in content, well thats a completely subjective thing. What I or anyone else likes might not be what you like.
My assumption is the free scripters are making what they like, cause there’s zero financial obligation attached.
Paid scripters make what interests them and what their audience asks for. Many paid scripters hold polls to vote on what to script next, I’m a @Slibowitz patron and he has a polls where people can submit videos for voting. @AniFS literally has a channel on their discord where people give suggestions and recommendations.

The initial post makes it seem like funscripts aren’t making full use of the technology available. That’s not what you mean. What you mean is the videos aren’t long enough for you and they aren’t what you like. You want longer and more complicated videos to be scripted that are more interesting to you. Well that thats a lot easier to say than to actually do.

Yeah god forbid the actors start moving in one direction while the camera starts shifting in the other. Have to second guess positions because the frame of reference points are changing or not visible at all.

edit: There was a point the camera was moving up but the actress was moving down so I was like wait, hold on is she at the bottom of the stroke or is she still going down I can’t tell.

Yeah I feel this. You have to find something that works for the medium/tech, something that’s objectively interesting enough to work with. And at the end of the day: you also have to want to make it.

Cause even if its 2 out of the 10 thats good for scripting, a scripter has to be interested(financially or personal taste) in scripting it.

I’ve got plenty of stuff sitting in a folder that would be great, but I’m just not feeling it.

This thread is for people who can only communicate with massive fucking walls of text. Say less o.O

@ OP the quality is ‘average’ because scripters are ‘average’. Either they don’t have the tech themselves to test better scripts (multiaxis and else), or they just don’t give a shit. Don’t like it? Make your own scripts like I do, that way everything meets your standards.

Thank you for being a member :slightly_smiling_face:
These suggestions and votes are quite important for me. They help finding videos, find out what people like, what they don’t like and they push me out of my comfort zone. Probably the most important and best thing about the votes.

Yes, very important! If you have no “connection” to the video, then the quality of the script will suffer. Or you won’t even start in the first place.

There is a lot to say regarding this topic ^^ I could write even more, but I hold myself back ^^
