Just figured I’d share my experience. Took a bit over 6 months of driving my fleshlight go, 3-5 times a week. It actually handled the weight fairly well. Many CH runs and it never hit any over temp alarms, and it never got uncomfortably hot. The last few weeks it would slip during use, especially with the cap tightened for suction. Then one time it stopped moving all together with use, and would not home when powered on, though I could hear the motor spinning. Upon disassembly I found that the motor shaft became decoupled from the rotor.
That said, I have reglued the shaft and it appears to be working again. We’ll see how long it lasts this time though as the stepper isn’t exactly serviceable. That said, the handy its self is actually fairly serviceable, so fixing it right is merely a matter of finding a replacement stepper. I have a few bigger ones laying around though, so I’m toying with the idea of trying to go bigger…

Just be carefull when going bigger, its by design that the handy allows it to get blocked. Its a major safety feature. Sure, since the fleshlights are heavier, more power on that could be welcome. But always make sure that the device wont be able to hurt you.
Still, i hope the device didnt break after 6 months from the point it was new, as with your usage, that sounds like a very short lifespan. In that case you were realy pushing the mechanics of it.
Sounds like a manufacturing fault to me. I have used my Handy 2-3x almost every day over the last 2 years without any issues (I do lube the screw from time to time).

That can highly depend on the usage. A heavier sleeve wil already put more strain on the device. And this can cause metal fatigue to show up. And dont underestimate how quickly this can happen with heavier loads than designed. I wouldnt be surprised if the wear with a double as heavy sleeve will already be 4x as much.
Relubing can surely help mitigating this, but there is a point where lube will no longer cause lesser wear. If the screw has to constantly face a heavier load than what its designed to do, lubing wont make any notible diffirence here anymore, as its the load itself causing the wear, rather than heat/friction of general movement.

I had it for 2-4 months using the stock sleeve before mounting then fleshlight to it. Honestly if I had stuck to nothing but average scenes it probably would have been fine. But I have really been enjoying cock heroes and pmv’s lately, and the rapid movements of those are most likely what did it in.
I knew when I mounted the fleshlight that it was over the recommended maximum weight and eventually might fail. I wasn’t, and still am not concerned. It’s back up and running for now, and when it eventually fails again I’ll modify it, build an sr6, or design and build something bigger/better myself. This was just me dipping my toes in the water. I will say this though. The difference between the stock sleeve and the fleshlight was night and day.
