FunSR1 for a first timer?

Hi everyone.
First timer here, and I am thinking about getting a handy or a FunSR1.
The FunSR1 seems a way better “raw” tool, with the reviews showing better technical results. Additionaly, for hand-free mounting it looks way easier than the Handy, only needing a VESA screen adapter for example. I do not mind tinkering both “physically” and with software.

On the other hand the Handy is more available, and comes with a sleeve. It also seems easier to use by holding it by hand, compared to the FunSR1 handle?

Do you have any advice for a first timer? The price for here in Europe with delivery is sensibly the same for the two package.

Not a first timer here, but I’m looking for some feedback too  FunSR1 seems to have some good reviews as you said.

The Handy is a company product and the FunSR1 something inbetween hobby and starting business. Pretty much depends if you want something that needs some tinkering and will do so more in the future than the Handy (which is pretty much a really really durable product) also only need Bluetooth. Afair it’s a device that is more usable infront of a computer with VESA adapter unlike the Handy which is more of a couch/lay down device because imo the handles on the FunSR1 are not made for that, but also depends on your set up at home and all.

Renwoxing also does some good support work on here. Oh and also VR setup can be a bit more of a hassle. No connection key unlike the Handy so you would need to change the setup for that to work, but it’s suppose to be pretty easy.

TheHandy is a 500mm/s and the FunSR1 a 600mm/s device. Read more about FunSR1 problems (with the device, not working, belt loosening and some other stuff on here) which makes sense, because it’s a smaller team behind the product.

Device is kneecaped for me currently, because Ali won’t send this one to Germany which is pretty strange with me having ordered other electronic devices so a bit strange, but could be other reasons.

Disclaimer: I can only speak for my own SSR1, which is what the FunSR1 is based on. The FunSR1 is modified in several ways but base functionality should be the same. I might at some point build a couple extra SSR1s myself to eventually sell, but not for a while yet.

The Handy, like the Keon I was using before, is more user friendly straight out of the box, being an older more refined consumer product. However, the SSR1 has the ability to move slower than 30 units/s and that, to me, is worth every bit of DIY/tinkering/hassle I have had to do when I built my own. The FunSR1 should work just as well out of the box, but if not I hear their customer service is quite okay.

I was a first timer too. Was debating between Handy and FunSR1. Went with SR1 mainly because it can handle full size fleshlights. Pretty happy with my decision, it is an absolute beast power wise. I do like the fact if I do have any issues, I can open it up and likely fix myself, which I couldn’t do with Handy. Only downside is it can’t do small sleeves like Quickshot etc.

Germany requires an environmental certification, which I currently don’t have the resources to obtain. If you wish to purchase, you can do so via PayPal.

If you’re not in a hurry, I suggest you make your decision next month.

Thanks for the answer.
I do understand the difference, and the trade-off. The handy is indeed easier to use anywhere and with bluetooth.
The only thing that makes me think, is that after a while, I will eventually think about doing a hands-free rig. And it seems that the Handy option are limited/expensive compared to FSR1. And as an user pointed out, and I saw on the video, the precision of the FSR1 particularly at lower speed is interesting (or rather, the mess that is the Handy at lower speed is a bit a bummer).

Thanks for the insight. I do not have any “sleeves” yet, but I thought of going with like a spinner, that hopefully fits.

Ah, is there any reason why? Update/Sale on the FunSR1?

SR1 might be being updated with twist. I would just wait tbh.

This is an excellent answer. The only thing I’ll add is that for anyone new to this, it’s hard to overstate how much hands-free adds to either device. Locking the stroker into position is what allows those more detailed movements to come through.

You can use a Quickshot with the FunSR1. You just have to remove the upper strap and the loose plastic brace. Then it more or less works like a Handy.

Can you demonstrate this visually, I understand about the belt but not so much about the bracket
