So I literally just got the device not more than 2 months ago, and it randomly stopped charging. Anyone else run into this?
(I have also tried using it on the charger, but it either turns off right away or shows lights but doesn’t move when scripts are played)
I’m having a similar issue. Even if I plug it in and look at the device info in the app, it says charger connected: false. It also takes a lot longer to actually boot up now too.
The matrix led screen doesn’t work at all any more and while it connects to the servers just fine, no scripts play nor can I control it via the buttons.
I’ve also noticed that if I go on to the HandyOnboarding app, go to the slider setting, I can’t calibrate it since it says my stroke is -1.34mm.
I’ve contacted their support but haven’t heard back from them yet.
I had this and ended up getting a replacement under warranty. They made me go back and forth with images and videos a bunch to prove it didn’t work.
I recently posted about this in the Handy 2 review thread. My Handy 2 pro just wont charge no matter what charger I try. Its a real pain having back and forth with OhDoki asking for videos etc when it is clear there is a manufacturing / quality control problem.
If I have a defective item on Amazon I am not expected to back and forth with support with videos as though I am doing something wrong. “Blame the customer first” is terrible customer service and even worse considering it is a sex toy requiring discretion. The whole situation is appalling.
Im still engaged with OhDoki support with this. Video & stats sent - now they want factory reset + 12 hour charge and then stats all over again. It is blatantly obvious some duds have slipped by quality control here. Instead of owning it we are being led a merry dance - maybe to delay as there is a bigger issue.
The weird thing is that I notice the device has to be on in order to be charged. As soon as I got it 2 days ago I thought it was charging when it was off.

I’m experiencing a similar problem. My Handy 2 Pro won’t charge, but if it’s plugged in it will maintain battery percentage during use.
Or at least it did, now that it hit 0% it won’t turn on anymore…
Still waiting for a replacement now. Apparently there is a queue. @handyAlexander says it is a low failure percentage - I think that isn’t true.
The failure rate is not zero, but it is still low.
We have shipped around 30,000 Handy 2 units in a short period of time, so even a low failure percentage still results in a noticeable number of cases. At the same time, customer support has been slower than usual due to Easter, a high volume of shipping and delivery questions, and many support cases related to USB-C PD. That has unfortunately created a queue for replacements.

Just got mine and facing the same issue. Its been plugged in for 3 hours on a fast mode charger that fully charges my phone in 30 minutes with the bar stuck on 40%. The device gets hot while plugged in but is not charging.
Just tried a 95w 20v apple charger and also no luck… the battery actually went down while charging…
I will say. The handy 2 does not need to be on to charge it, but you do need to turn it on every time you want to check the %. And sidenote. A PC Fast Charger/ Very Fast Charger USB-C is recommended for the handy 2
Hi, im currently having the same issue and havent gotten a response from the team yet.
What is “low”? 10% can be low to you yet thats 3000 units out of 30k. It seems like there were reports on reddit about a faulty battery since December. How has the stats changed since then. If the percentage is low but consistent, then isn’t there something that needs to be changed in production and quality check?
i purchased my handy in march and received it in june and already has stopped functioning. I would assume the Handy team has been dealing with this since December, but im curious as to why we are still experiencing the same issue if handy has done their due diligence on their end.

They say it only affects 3% of devices but it’s way more than that they said that they fixed the issue a month ago I think so any device that is not the newer production can have this issue who knows how much old stock of devices they still have and are still being sold. I think they are still giving older production devices as replacements because a lot of replacements are failing.
I had similar problems with “random” USB-A-to-C and C-to-C cables until I finally tried a very high bandwidth USB-C cable, one rated for Thunderbolt 5. So make sure you are using a very high quality USB-C cable rated for a lot of bandwidth/power.
But.. I can only run the Handy on an external battery or power supply now – the internal battery never charges when the power is off.
I have an external high quality battery (Lenovo) that shows power draw all the time, and power draw is normal when connected and powered up, higher as you would expect when running fast, for example at full stroke top to bottom, here are the power draws:
but when IDLE, battery draw is almost always at zero, and poweed off, it is stil near zero – the battery, for some reason, is choosing not to charge!
I purchased my Handy2 a month ago after my 1 year old Handy1 stopped working and no support offered as it’s out of warranty. Now my Handy2 won’t charge. I tried 2 high-speed power chargers that charge my phone very quickly but it won’t work. Looks like I am part of the statistics now.
