HereSphere VR Video Player for Quest 2/Pro/3 supports Handy, Keon, Launch and Passthrough

I’ve used Heresphere twice since the update the other day. In both instances, whenever I click the button to bring up the Meta taskbar, I get kicked back to my home environment. I use multitasking every time I use Heresphere (usually to play Spotify on the web browser) so it’s clear to me that this behavior only began after updating. I’m using a Quest 3, and I’m running the Quest native Heresphere app. I’ve also checked my settings and made certain that seamless multitasking is still enabled.

Edit with additional info: I’ve been on system version 74.1020 since March 13. I’ve also been unable to recreate the error while using other apps. So far this seems to only happen with Heresphere.

I think Meta broke some compatibility with Unreal Engine 4.27 (which HereSphere uses) with the Quest v74 update. Seems like the Oculus SDK is now deprecated, so there’s no way to update to the latest Meta SDK without upgrading the entire engine to Unreal Engine 5. It’s still gonna be several more months until the UE5 update will be ready.

I have exactly the same issue.

I think the Meta button issue should be fixed with the latest update v0.11.8.

Any idea why the web api for naughty america is not working anymore?

Naughty America’s bot activity blocking system is preventing HereSphere from requesting data from the website. I think their devs are looking into a fix, but I don’t know when it’ll be ready.

Hello, I’m loving heresphere so far! Got it a few days ago on steam and its without a doubt my go to video player now. Thanks for all the work you guys are doing.

I’m having some issues with handy connection and I’m hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Sometimes, the connection is flawless and i have zero issues. Other times the handy will connect, play a script for a few seconds and then loose connection and I’ll see an “invalid connection code” error. Ive tried nearly everything i can think of so I’m thinking its either a wifi issue or an issue with the handy servers, but has anyone else experienced something similar and been able to find a solution? Thanks guys!

Has anyone had issues syncing up scripts from POVR? I can’t tell if they are just inaccurate boarderline useless scripts, or if they are just out of sync. I can’t even tell if the time offset function within Heresphere even has an effect on the script they seem so out of sync to me.

POVR/WankzVR scripts are tokens, pretty sure the time offset in Heresphere as no effect on those, and yeah they’re pretty poor quality.

@HereSphere Hello, would it be possible for you to implement Tcode? The SSR1 and other devices are officially supported with wifi.
Also a second request: can you implement button passthrough to Multifunplayer? That way - incase Tcode takes a while - people can control their Ranges etc with the oculus controllers instead of having to fallback to Ocolus controllers for VR controlls + xbox gamepad to controll mfp.

Hi if I am understanding the above messages, I can just connect to the handy via Quest 2 bluetooth? My wireless network is untrustable

Hey everyone, I use heresphere on my Quest with XBVR and they are great softwares.
But recently I keep having an issue with buffering. after watching a video and seeking through the timeline the video freeze and I keep having a message “Failed to open memory is probably full” ( or something like this ) I’ve tried to chage option in the buffering panel of the general options but I don’t have the necessary knowledge I thing.
Would you have some ideas on how to resolve this ?
I didn’t have this problem before.
Lots of space on the headset

Thanks a lot !

Are you using bluetooth headphones, by any chance?

I do ! I use a Sony bluetooth headset, anything to do with that you think ?

Yeah, it’s recommended to use wireless headphones that use the usb-c port on the Quest headsets, rather than bluetooth. Sometimes a Quest OS update can cause bluetooth performance to degrade, since it also has to track the controllers using bluetooth as well. Test if switching to a different audio device will help with the playback issues.

I will definitely try that thanks for the tip !
