Honest Syncbot review + Syncbot VR

So after some testing, I finally decided that I’m able to give you my honest opinion, about the Syncbot and if it’s actually worth to buy.

It’s quite important to know, that I didn’t receive the Syncbot for free. I’m writing this because I believe that people deserve an honest review about the Syncbot, since it’s quite expensive.

First of all, what is the Syncbot?
The Syncbot describes itself as a “revolutionary AI Masturbator”. Practically it is an electronic Masturbator with 3 different functions to create a “realistic” Sex/Blowjob/Handjob experience. The Syncbot has a stroke function, a twist function and a rotation function. Those functions get combined into a script that under normal circumstances has been created directly by their own AI: PornGPT. The AI comes with the software, thats included in your package and can analyze any video to create a script from it, trying to mimic the movements.

The Stroke function is really just a normal up and down stroke.
The Twist function creates suction.
The Rotation mainly takes care of the tip and the upper area.

All those functions can be adjusted with their software after it has been updated.

You connect the Syncbot to your PC/Laptop via the Synchub, whis is practically a connection dongle, that also has the Syncplayer software ready to install.

The Syncbot itself has two parts the Scabbard and the Syncbot. The Scabbard is the sleeve and can be replaced if it should ever be damaged, without having to replace the full device. For easy cleaning there are two options available for the Scabbard. The Scabbard can be taken apart into three pieces and then cleaned with a mild soap and water or you can open a small lid on the bottom of the Scabbard and let water run through it.

The base Syncbot should not be cleaned with water, at best you should use a damp paper towel to clean everything that might need cleaning, but I never experienced the base Syncbot to get any kind of fluid on it.

The Syncbot and the Scabbard connect via magnets. To disconnect them, you just need to pull after turning the Syncbot off. If the Syncbot is charged, it will automatically turn on and off, if the Synchub is able to connect to it. So removing the Synchub from your PC/Laptop should turn the Syncbot off.

I hope this standard explanation helped you to get an image of what the Syncbot is, at least without any real experience added to it.
So now to the part that you probably want to know: My experience with the Syncbot.

Ordering and Shipping
Since I live in the EU, it was quite important to me that my order is not directly imported from China and leaves me with any import fees. Ordering for an EU country wasn’t to difficult and I was able to easily place the order. I ordered the Lite package, because the Pro package was a little to expensive for me. After ordering, it took around 15-16 days before my order arrived, even though it stated 7 days max for the shipping at first. I contacted the support and they told me, that there were some problems with shipping and that it would generally take 15 days. I also noticed that they updated the shipping time, after I contacted them. For some reason I received two tracking numbers. The package arrived without any damage and has except for the small writing on the top lid, nothing that would let you know that there is a sex toy in it.

Opening the box wasn’t as easy as I would have liked it to be. The top lid doesn’t move very smoothly and you need to move it from side to side to get the box open.

The Syncbot, the Scabbard and the Synchub are all separately stored in their own space in the foam cutout. Trying to remove the Synchub from it’s space was quite difficult, so afterwards I put a piece of paper beneath it for easy removal. (I’m storing the Syncbot and everything that comes with it, in the box, because it’s still good for storing everything.)

After unpacking everything, I charged the base Syncbot and installed the Syncplayer, that’s included in the Synchub. It is important to notice that the Syncplayer version is an old one and by default has not enough features. Some very important features. You need to ask either on the Syncbot discord or via email for the updated version after that it automatically includes an update function if there are any available. Just because of this situation, if it weren’t that easily fixed by asking, I would not recommend the Syncbot at all.
The features added with later versions of the Syncplayer are quite important for a full experience and a safe experience. The main reason I’m talking about a safe experience, is the fact that the base Syncplayer has no option to tweak the strength of the twist and rotation function and without any tweaking they can be way to strong maybe even leading to injuries if you are more likely to get friction burn.

I’m not saying the Syncbot is dangerous, I’m just saying that the full strength is a little bit too strong.

Well I was able to get the updated version quite easily and I would recommend to ask after ordering, so that you don’t have to wait for it after the Syncbot arrives.
There’s also the Syncbrowser, but I’m not going to talk about it, because I rarely used it and it’s still in Beta. The same goes for their app, I never used the app, but it’s supposed to work like a remote control, so that you don’t have to link to a video.

After the Syncbot was done charging I assembled the Scabbard with the base Syncbot and forgot to mind the gap. I didn’t hurt myself, but the magnets are very strong, so mind the gap and keep your fingers away from it. After making sure everything is correctly assembled I activated the Syncbot with the Synchub and opened the Syncplayer. In the Syncplayer you can analyze videos and let the AI create a script. At the same time I received access to the Fun2Sync tool, which allowed me to convert Funscripts to work with the Syncbot.

So for my first tests, I analyzed a few videos and added videos with scripts to see how well it would work. At the time there was no VR support.

AI Scripts
It’s really more about luck than anything else and deleting the script and analyzing again doesn’t change the result. Some videos worked very well and had everything that needed actions covered and some videos did only get a partial script or no script at all. I mainly didn’t get any scripts with JAV videos. The scripts are more or less accurate and even add nice actions to for example the female orgasm. But if you only buy this for the AI scripts at the moment, you will probably be dissapointed. The AI will evolve over time, but it wasn’t the selling point for me. I bought the Syncbot after hearing about the Fun2Sync tool.

Fun2Sync scripts
The Fun2Sync tool was easy to use and was way faster than analyzing the videos. But that’s not important anymore, because the tool is not available and is not developed any further. With their newer versions of the Syncplayer, the Syncbot uses a new script format and has the function to convert Funscripts on it’s own. You practically just drag it over the video and it’s added and converted. This was the main reason for my purchase, the option to use Funscripts with this toy and I have to say they are really good. It depends on the script, I tried free and paid scripts from EroScripts and converted Afesta scripts. The Afesta scripts do work better than they would with the Handy, but they are still not too good. The EroScripts scripts are marvelous! They work really well with the Syncbot and enhance the experience.

Premium Scripts
The Premium scripts are the ones created by scripters directly for the Syncbot with the new scripting tool. It’s still in beta and I didn’t try them yet. But the tool allows the Scripter to manually adjust the functions and create a more guided and intentional experience, while the Funscript convertion can be a little random with the different functions from time to time.

What does the Syncbot experience feel like?
I never used their own lube, that comes with the Syncbot, so I can’t tell you anything about their recommended experience, but I tried different lubes and I think it gave me the option to really get a got idea of the Syncbot.
One of the things the Syncbot has mentioned as a feature is the fact that you don’t need to be fully erect to use the Syncbot and I don’t have a problem with erections, but I normally used toys like the Handy or the Keon in VR, and depending on how long it takes to get to the action, I really can’t say that it stimulates me to have a sleeve sitting on my penis without any movement, so when the action would start, it occasionally hapened that I would slip out of the sleeve and this was very annoying to the point where I would leave the toy somewhere next to me and just watch the video until the action started, to pause and ready the toy. But the Syncbot doesn’t have this problem, I added lube , inserted and could just wait for the action to start and it would always work to stimulate from no erection to full erection.
So the first time I had the settings for the functions very low, because I heard of injuries and really didn’t want to hurt myself and I recommend to start with low settings so that you are not hurting yourself by accident. The low settings are not very noticeable and to get twisting to work properly you need to have it at 50% minimum. Rotation also really starts at 30%-40%. So I adjusted the settings and have to say, that a thin lube is really not a good idea. The Syncbot seems to create a lot of friction and it’s really noticeable with thin lube. The twisting and the rotation are the main functions to create intense feelings, the stroke is really not that much and just adds a little bit to the Syncbot. In combination they can create a really good experience, but if you only use stroking and very little to no rotation, the sensation is really limited and not enough to reach an orgasm.

I tried this a few times with different videos and scripts, mainly Funscripts, and came to the conclusion that the experience wasn’t good enough to replace the Handy. But then they released the VR update and I really wanted to give it a last try, seeing if VR could change this in any way.

I used a thicker lube this time and did all the preparations to use the Syncbot with VR. Knowing that the thicker lube does a better job, I adjusted the settings to be more noticeable but still nothing over 50%. This experience made the Syncbot to my new favorite. With a thicker lube, the friction is just perfect and after adjusting the settings, the sensations are just perfect. It really is not important that the stroke is very limited, because the Syncbot really gives a spectacular experience as soon as you get everything adjusted.

So is it super safe now after using a thicker lube? Well, the last time I used the Syncbot I had a little bit of a friction burn, it’s not a lot, barely noticeable and doesn’t hurt, it’s practically just a little small red spot. I probably need to do more adjusting and use the right amount of lube, because I didn’t use to much the last time, so that is very likely the reason for the friction burn. Which should remind us to always stay safe when playing with our most precious part. In the past I got frictions burn on very hot days when I used little to no lube, so it’s not like you couldn’t get a friction burn under any other circumstance. You can get a friction burn from normal sex and masturbation. So this situation is not a dealbreaker for me. But it is noteworthy that another user shared his experience with the Syncbot really harming him, so that he had to recover for some time, this seemed to have a connection with him being quite above average length and girth, so you might look out for that. You also might want to sit this one out if you are common to friction burns.

The cleaning
It’s really one of the more easier things, but it takes a little of practice. I would never recommend to use the simple cleaning method, where you just open the lid on the bottom and let water run through the Scabbard. It not going to dry and it’s not properly clean afterwards. So to clean the Scabbard you lift the upper part to reveal a little bit of space for you to hold, if you have the Caliper, this will be more easy to do, but it’s not necessary. You unscrew the both parts by rotating the middle ring with the ridges clockwise. Then you have two of the three parts separated. I heard that some people have a hard time with this step already, because they are unable to unscrew the parts. I can’t say anything about that, because I didn’t have a problem with this. The next part though didn’t work a first. Because to separate the last part, the rotation part that sits in the bottom half of the Scabbard, you might need to use more force. What worked for me what hitting the edge of the bottom half while facing the rotation part downwards to separate them. It took me a good amount of time and can feel like they are glued together. But they are not and they won’t separate through pulling. You need to hit the edge on a hard surface.

After that everything is quite easy, rinse with water and soap, make sure everything has been washed. I then use paper towels to dry everything. It’s important to notice that there are some parts that love to hide water in them, but I found a good way to get them out, so that you can dry everything by hand. The bottom part is the easiest one since it’s only plastic. Just go over and inside with the paper towel until it’s dry, this shouldn’t take more than a minute at best. But there is a chance that some water hides between the ring, to screw everything back together, and the plastic container, so to get the water out of it, just let it spin like you are unscrewing it and you’ll see that water comes out of it, dry it and repeat until you are happy. The rotation part is also quite easy just go over the plastic and then inside. Press against the sides and feel with your finger afterwards to see if it’s still wet. Do that until it’s completely dry. The last part is the most annoying one, the top half. It is the part where you insert and holds the twisting piece. It easy for water to get trapped between the twisting piece and the outer shell. So use the paper towel to dry the outside and the inside. Then go over the inside rim to dry it. Now comes the tricky part, pull the twisting part down so that you can grip it like you would assemble the Scabbard and rotate it a little bit to both sides like it would do the normal twisting motion, don’t rotate to far, just slightly in both directions and shake it a little bit like it would do the stroking motion. This lead to the trapped water coming out and you are most likely to feel it the second you start doing the motions. Wipe away and repeat, when it stops being a lot of big water drops, you can reassemble by putting the rotation piece in the bottom half. I normally rotate it a little bit with my finger, to make sure it sits in the right and place and rotates normally. Then pull the twisting piece of the upper half down again and align the arrows. Screw it back together, this can take a few tries and then move the upper half a little bit to see if any water is left, wipe away and repeat until you are happy.

After that it’s completely dry and you can store it again. But you can also air dry it a little bit if you want to. Even though this sounds like it takes hours to do this, it normally spend like 5 minutes on this and have everything dry and ready to store. So it really just sounds a lot and if anyone really want to see how I clean the Scabbard in tutorial form let me know and I’ll record a video.

Generally because it’s so easy and accessible for cleaning and it can be done in a short amount of time, I have the Syncbot as one of my new favorites.

The conclusion
Is the Syncbot worth it? It really depends on you. At the moment it doesn’t seem to be good for people with above average size and girth and if you really want the feel of the stroke, you are better of with a Handy or a toy that has all the other features as well. But if you don’t have those physical restrictions and your preference is not with a long stroke, the Syncbot can give you a one in a lifetime orgasm, again and again. It works perfect with VR and Funscripts and with the new script tool, it will probably not take too long before there are completely adjusted handmade Syncbot scripts.
It really just depends on how much you want to do on your side. My first lazy approach left me in a situation where I wouldn’t have recommended the Syncbot, but after finding the right settings and the right lube, the experience changed from not good and unsatisfied to an experience that I’ve never had before. It’s still important to stay safe. If under any circumstances injuries like the friction burn should appear more often from now on, I will edit and update my recommendation. But as it is now, the Syncbot can be one of the best toys for you and is for me.

Update: I just realised I forgot to say anything about the sound. The Syncbot is very loud. But it’s easier to dampen the noise with a pillow or a blanket, than it would be with other toys and if you combine that with a good Headset you shouldn’t notice the sound anymore. For example, I tried dampening the sound with a big pillow and did only use the Quest 3’s built-in speakers and I didn’t notice the sound at all.

Thanks for your review! I’m still hesitant about buying it, I’m very sensitive and I’m slightly above average (16x4.5). I don’t care about long strokes, I use my Handy with the minimum (or almost minimum) stroke length and it’s enough for me. I like edging scenes, which I read are good with this device. Do you think it could work for me? Which thicker lube did you use?

Thanks for the detailed review! I’ll still probably try and buy one of these once I can afford the damn thing. Like the commenter above I’m also curious what thicker lube you used that worked well?

I really can’t tell you if it will work for you. But maybe it helps knowing, that not a lot of people have been reporting injuries or problems. There has really just been this one person that had a lot of problems with injuries.

It is very good for edging. With the right settings the scripts hold you very long on the edge without tipping you over and without having to stop. But also with to little settings there can be too little stimulation, so you need to find the right settings to make it work for you.

The lube I used is Durex play sensitive. It is not too thick, but also not a thin lube.
