How To Connect Popular Sex Toys For Interactive Haptic VR and 2D! (Including the HANDY, Fleshlight LAUNCH, Kiiroo KEON, VORZE, LOVENSE, OSR2+ and more) Step by Step Guide with Pictures!)

This may well be a silly question but I just can’t find an answer anywhere, and I can’t fix the problem myself, so here goes :grimacing:

I’ve got a handy, I’ve had it for a while, it works, it’s been connected to wifi/Quest 2, I know the process, all good.

I’m currently trying to connect it with the only change being that I don’t have an internet connection at the moment. The handy sees the network, and vice versa, laptop sees everything they’re all good, but when I try to connect in Deo I get an error… An error occurred while sending the request NameResolutionFailure

So I’m hoping I’m just doing something wrong, I’ll be pissed if this thing has to have an internet connection to work.

I’m back with an internet connection now so the handy connected fine, still not sure why I couldn’t sort it out just on wifi, but??

So new problem, the video is super laggy/stuttering, the script loads but it’s hard to tell what it’s really doing (whether it’s part of the problem) given how bad the video playback is.

I’ve tried big files in the Gb’s and small files in the Mb’s, and I’ve tried files I’m sure I’ve used before.

It’s been about 6 months, the only changes I think are the quest firmware, it did that on start up so I didn’t have any choice there, I’ve held off the handy firmware update because I didn’t want to change anything from what was a working set-up. And I guess the other thing would be that there are more files on the quest, can low hd storage hurt playback? Sometimes running close to full can hurt PC performance I guess?

Will the new handy firmware help? Delete some files? I’ll try both maybe, hope I don’t break anything…

hey @HandyG - good to hear you have it connected now - sorry but I think you do need internet connection to have it work, since scripts (even local) need to go through SLR/Handy servers to work properly

Is that happening for streaming or local video playback?

If your video is super laggy/stuttering during streaming, try cycling between h264 and h265 video options in DEOVR/SLR player UI

If for local playback, try downloading h264 and h265 versions to see which plays smoother

Also check in your SLR/DEOVR settings and try enabling Directshow On/OFF to see if that helps, as sometimes app updates reset settings

Low hd storage shouldnt really hirt playback, unless the drive is heavily fragmented which I dont think would be the case being a relatively short time, but its a good idea in general to give your hd at least +10% remaining space breathing room

Handy firmware versions wont affect video playback

@Realcumber thanks for the reply.

I didn’t realise that about the internet connection, when they were all ‘seeing’ each other I thought things should be working and I was just stuffing something up. I hate the idea of things having to be connected to work, fair enough if it can’t be handled onboard but when it’s a deliberate thing it’s annoying.

After posting that this morning I jumped on quickly and tested a couple of vids and they seemed fine but scripts were 50/50, but that may have been naming issues or something else, I was in a rush and out now. Always confusing when things fix themselves

When I get home I’ll just let everything update, I’ll run through all the files and do what I should have at the start, both posts may have been a waste of time… I was just excited, it had all been packed up for the last 6 months, I was planning to have an SR6 finished but don’t so it was all hands on deck to get the handy operational

Hi, I’m having an issue with DeoVR not playing any scripts using Quest2 and ScriptPlayer with Buttplug. The names of the files are identical and short like test etc. The problem is the blue icon does not show up within VR in DeoVR, although I’ve enabled the remote control. I don’t have a SLR account and can’t seem to find a way to make a free one. It all works fine on my PC as I don’t need DeoVR but when I try to do it via Quest2 it only plays video. Thanks!

Hi @TheyCallMeHandsome - what toy are you using?

Where is your script and video placed?

Are you trying local folder playback or streaming the script?

Hi. I got it working!

Only thing I was doing wrong is not understanding I was supposed to launch DeoVR THROUGH SteamVR. I wondered why I needed SteamVR and in the end I launched it through that and it worked. Still no Blue button on the player or anything and I can’t make a free account on SLR but I assume that is for the Handy, but my Keon works fine through ScriptPlayer.

Thanks for the help and guide, might be worth adding that launching through SteamVR can make it work in the guide as I’m new to VR and others may be too and didn’t know that.

Always good to hear!

Good point about how to launch Deovr through steamvr - will definitely add that for clarity, thanks!

SLR’s site has had some updates since - Here’s a direct link to Free registration →

For best smoothest and most accurate script playback performance of Keon, definitely try connecting using SLR interactive app

You can install the SLR interactive app direct on your quest 2 as well - the blue toy icon should show up when signed in and linked together (offline or streaming with or without purchased scripts/scripts sub) →

Awesome, thank you for the link!

Once I had the account set-up, no PC link was needed and following the SLR mobile app guide to watch offline with offline scripts I got it sorted easily!

Just fyi for anyone trying to make DLNA work with Quest2, Just share your videos folder from Windows Media Player, and make sure to put all your scripts in the Interactive folder on the quest, that way the streamed video from your PC gets matched to the script on your oculus, hope this helps as it took me a while to figure it out.

This is for Option 1A.

I’m trying to connect my headset through DeoVR DLNA feature while VPN is turned on in the headset itself (NordVPN APK).

However, I can’t seem to establish a DLNA connection no matter how much I try. I tried having my laptop connected to the same server through Nord VPN PC application (same IP address) with no success. I’m open to use another VPN APK application if anyone has had a successful experience doing so.

The reason behind this is that I have to access SLR with a VPN running in the background of my headset in my country. My goal is to run scripts on the handy along videos stored on my laptop through DeoVR DLNA.

Any suggestions?

Sorry @Barcalad9 - Im not too familiar with DLNA as there are so many variables at play and can be really difficult to troubleshoot to get working to everyones unique case

If you havent already, I would recommend trying out the Scripts premium method for direct streaming videos and scripts directly through DeoVR for most convenient easiest hassle free method

Alternatively maybe also try using DeoVR/SLR app running through Virtual Desktop app on your laptop

Yes that virtual desktop app actually works. The catch is, for large files, the 2.4 ghz connection that “the handy” dictates unfortunately creates all sorts of buffering and just an unstable connection overall.
SLR streaming is great. But I’m into content from all sort of websites and studios that are unavailable on SLR.

Will give it a go on smaller size 2D files though. Thanks man.

im looking for the cheapest headset setup as ill only really use it for porn, any recommendations?

Quest 2 by far I would say for best bang for your buck

If you have mobile internet in your phone you can try to connect the Handy to your phone and use Virtual Desktop app at 5GHz frequency via router. The Handy don’t have to be connected to the same network. You can also look into some dual band routers - I have one of those and everything runs great so far.

This is brilliant. I never thought about the fact that the handy connects to the headset through the internet and not LAN :). This worked perfectly seamless on an 18.6 GB file with Quest 2 Airlink.

Thanks a lot.

There was an update to the SLR APP now the funscript files are not working even though it showsthe device is connected. Anyone running into this issue or have a solution?

Which headset do you have @Dukeslancer ? - Most major headsets should work, but if you have Oculus Go or GearVR/cardboard then its likely because those devices are no longer able to be supported as manufacturers stopped support for those devices for quite some time now

It’s a GearVR but it worked perfectly for over a year till now a recent update on SLR app then not sure where the disconnect happened.

Is there a way to stream the scripts with OSR2 without using joy fun player. JoyFunPlayer 4.0 has been out for a while and its not really as good as MultiFunPlayer. JFP can stream but was wondering if there are alternatives to get a better experience. @Realcumber
