How to start scripting

Hi @RG2021 Always good to see people taking up scripting … and making videos!

As the other commenters suggested, OpenFunscripter 3 is your best bet. Even if you use some more automated tools to create a raw script, it is a good idea to refine it in OFS afterwards.

You don’t need one, but it makes it easier. You can use FunscriptGenerator to quickly generate a simple funscript from a beat file (or if you properly edit the audio of a video in Audacity for example). If the Cock Hero has a beat bar, you can use Scriptplayer.Videosync (needs to be compiled by yourself) to do the same.
Or you could set the Mode from Default to Alternating in OFS and tap along to the beat on your keypad, if everything else fails.

In any case, you’ll probably need to post-process this in OFS. There are several extensions to help:

  • My Tools by Limitlessman helps with doing patterns and limit strokes.
  • Util Eng by OG9 has some general tools helping with selection for example
  • Kingleon99’s Collection does similar things to MyTools but a bit differently.
  • BPM Tools I wrote primarily to easily improve precision of the scripts, i.e. to align the actions to the music. This makes using the aforementioned tools a bit easier, since there are less erratic results. It also has some additional tools, like converting from easy to hard mode or detecting pauses to slope.

This milovana thread talks about some of these tools.

There are also other tools like FunscriptDancer/PythonDancer that generate more general funscripts to music (personally not a fan), FunExpander to quickly convert/limit scripts and convert videos to iframes, Honato’s FunscriptGenerator (not sure exactly, what it does) and more if you search this forum under software.
