I think this is a neat idea and could be cool for interactive games - however for scripting, agree needs more keys for incremental measures but still cool none the less and appreciate by using a custom key board this can be achieved. However, please check out the handy discord… i similarly want to create something to enable live hip movement to handy strokes and this to be able to be used for scripting too as well as interacting with vr games.
So far advice has been to get a accelerometer, get data from physical movement to be calculated for handy movement … but then is the hard bit… you have keys doing the measuring work here… then turning this to script… i’d have the xyz measures then would use z (standing missionary) and y (laying up pumping cowgirl) - a mixture of axial measures then turn this to scripting … can you help me understand how to do this please without me needing to loose my hair trying to understand python
I made it affordable and easy to make. The electronics cost about $30 (no soldering required) plus around 300g of printer filament, 14 m3 heat set inserts and m3 screws ~ $10. It costs less than a fleshlight to make. For sleeves I have it working with regular fleshlights and generic pump sleeves for penis pumps like ones by LeLuv. Fleshlights are expensive so I wanted an affordable option. I could create adapters for other toys too, it is fully modular so you just have to swap out a few pieces and screw it together.
Thanks. I have seen some other designs out there. I decided against light sensors because there really isnt a target to sense. You could try to sense the tip of the penis but that would be unreliable because of fluids and a wiggling plastic sleeve between the sensor and the tip. If it was used to sense the body of the sleeve the sleeve moves around and different materials interact with light diferently so it would be unreliable. It’s not an easy problem. However, I was able to create a solution with mechanical switches and adapters to control the space the penis passes through so the switches reliably set and reset with natural motion.
The way I have it programed now, in one mode it sends a user selected key press to a computer when a switch is pressed (a,b,c,1,2,3 etc.) as a usb hid keyboard. In another mode it does the same but as a bluetooth keyboard. In the third mode it sends a signal to a serial monitor on a computer.
I could reprogram it to do pretty much anything so the switches could send 25, 50, 75, 100 or whatever. Or recording software could understand that a keyboard press of 1 is 25%, 2 is 50% etc.
Vr and multiaxis is kind of a pain right now. The user is usually locked into a position and cant move. Plus the range of motion reproduction is restricted so you exponentially increase the amount of data and work for a few degrees of motion. Almost every vr game that I have played uses a different control scheme and way of orienting the model in vr. Then you have to match up where the stroker is in real reality with virtual reality, its hard.
That is partly why I decided depth was good enough.
The vagina is an input device, the penis is an output. I think we have been approaching the issue backwards. I would rather perform on a fleshlight and watch a machine reproduce my performance on a camgirl. Why stop at one though, why not 100 camgirls at once. Or we could become cam boys where women log in and get devices controlled by men.
But both approaches are good. If I put this on a stroker I could have the best of both worlds switching back and forth between input and output on the fly.
I used to play with flexible linear potentiometers (spectrasymbol) - using them you can get accuracy to fractions of a millimeter.
I also once forged sensors of position in space (accelerometer + gyroscope + magnetometer), even made two sets of sensors (17 pieces each) for a motion tracking suit.
In spite of all this, I didn’t reinvent the wheel and now use HTC Vive Conroller. You don’t need a helmet - just one base station, one controller and a wireless receiver from Steam Controller (to reprogram it into a receiver for HTC tracker), used ones can be bought for cheap.
But your experience and gained skills are worth a lot, go for it! You’re good.
Also, i take it the z and y data could be used for the same stroke /script conversion so that either way, the stroke length is computed the same way to give the relative same stroke but inverted so hip flex out equal handy slider stroke down from top etc…
Dreams can cum true… i would have never created the hands³ if i didnt dream it up as well as work with the handy community to make it happen… hopefully the same can be true with this handy attachment too and we can finally get it to work with vr interactive games like captain hardcore etc. Or parody meat saber…more info in the handy discord.
Or simply just make our own scripts etc with movement… surely thats more fun than with a mouse etc… and its better exercise…
I thought about doing something similar with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJzwjhVEqBE with the idea that the pressure sensor could determine depth as well as an average pressure as a pseudo arousal level meter.
The light is just displaying the data being gathered by the potentiometer, which is the strip he’s touching with his finger. It senses where and how much pressure is being applied on the strip.
Right, that seems like the next best type of sensor for this. I have a flex resistor I am going to experiment with. I had success with the keyboard keys and went down that tech tree.
I agree with the vr controller approach too. If you use these devices in vr you still need to use a controller. Im tired of setting the controller down to use a toy, then Im groping around in the dark trying to find my vr controller. I have extra mounting holes on this device for attachments, so the next thing Im making is a quest 2 controller mount to eventually become a quick release vr controller mount for all types of controllers.
For the flex resistors/ potentiometers I should only need to change 2 of the 3d printed parts to change out the keyboard interface to something for these. For gaming I think the keyboard is still the better option but gaming isnt the only application.
You seem experienced with vr and stroker hardware and software. Would you like to collab? We could evaluate the potentiometers and flex resistors for application in this field, and I could use some help interfacing with the popular software like buttplug.io. I am capable of this but I havent started learning that yet.
I saw you on thingiverse. Cool designs. I dont have a handy (yet) but I want to make a handy mount for this. I also need to make vr controller mounts. I see that you have models that have parts I could use to easily make my designs. Would you like to collab too?
If we dont make these devices open source we will end up in PornHub paywalled ai waifu hell.
You should definitely try a handy with vr too its really awesome, especially with the hands³ set up.
I would love to collab thanks and have even thought up a way we can start.
Yes feel free to remix away
Yes I’m happy to help anyway that can help the handy be even better and have more presence in this market place of sex toys but also as a creative space let folks make their own scripts or use their handy with games etc or as they wish. Handy has open api and a friendly open team so its kinda only fair we all work together to make things even better
