I can’t tell if the handy 1 is out of date or just can’t handle some scripts. There are a lot of videos that have fast sections where you’re expected to go full length on strokes. The handy kinda shits the bed on these and only moves a little bit near the top of the device. I’m disappointed in it and want to replace it with something stronger, but I don’t have hundreds of dollars to dump on a custom toy.
Am wondering if the scripts I’m using are bad or if the device itself is just too weak for these scripts.
The handy 1 has a max speed of like 380 units/s on full-length strokes and requires some time to switch directions, so if it cannot do that in time the firmware automatically clips the motion and moves to the next one to stay current.
Most scripters are making stuff that’s better on handy 2 with an overclock these days, but the best option is to customize the script motion and give it like 10-20ms of rest at the bottom and top of a full stroke to give the motor time to brake and spin up to the opposite direction.
FW3 might not solve the issues you experienced in the funscript you shared though
If I play that funsript - I’m pretty darn sure even my overclocked Handy 2 Pro might start choking midway and go into “limp mode” until I restart it. Definitely happened with scripts like THAT in the past. So it’s rather a funscript issue, not a device issue.
With FW3 the device will just feel way more snappy overall - powering through the majority of even the most red strokes out there, and glitching out (going into limp mode) far less. Not purple strokes though - those are for OC’d Handy 2 Pro’s and custom built devices only. Still up to a certain speed point though.
Also make sure that you use enough (read: even more than necessary) lube and fall-back onto Handy’s standard sleeve collection as those are very light and optimized for even super-fast play.
That particular script is not great… Max speed of 2k is faster than basically ANY toy can go unless you have a very specialized toy and like having your meat mashed into paste.
I’m possibly the biggest Handy hater on the site. You can buy OSR devices for basically the same price that are orders of magnitude better. A new Handy 1 costs $170.
Most people buy Handy devices for the same reason people buy Autoblow devices or Keon devices. LOTS of marketing hype for products that do the bare minimum to match the expectations of that marketing hype + upsell their premium devices that barely match the minimum for most OSRs.
well damn, I did this now it can’t connect via wifi nor bluetooth, retrying fails, thing is bricked don’t do this fellas. As far as I can tell there isn’t any factory reset either…
I used my extension, StrokeLimit, to make this script compatible with The Handy 1. If you ever run into any other scripts that go above 500, you can just open it in OFS and use that extension to slow things down. Settings were 500 speed, and Both Points mode (although you could try different settings if it’s not to your liking). Unfortunately, sometimes it’s just not possible to get a full stroke with faster action, so you might have to manually adjust it in spots depending on if you want tip-focused action or full penetration. Hope this helps! endurance-satori-komeiji_1080p.funscript (50.4 KB)
With the custom stuff, it’s usually a buy once cry once kind of deal. There’s usually some hassle involved but you end up with a superior product made by an individual you can reach out to if something breaks and they’ll actually fix it.
There’s posts on here that go like “On my 5th Handy replacement, fingers crossed!”
