I bought my first SR6 (With a Twist) from Your Hobbies Customized LLC
It cost a pretty penny
This business is owned and operated by one dude. He has a family, and presumably a day job. He responded to emails eventually, but all said it was a slow process to get all the parts printed, and as long as he’s been in business it would seem that he doesn’t stock the hardware/electronic components.
The SR6 Arrived, and after downloading tons of software I was finally able to get it working. Huge learning curve if you aren’t a bit of a computer geek. However, the SR6 worked great, for a while. One of the servos died in less than a month, demoting it to the SR5. It was one of the rear arms atop of the main body, so I crudely taped them together (like the buddy system when you have a broken finger), and that worked fine once I set some of the axis limits to a small margin of adjustment. Jerry rigged it so to speak.
I am no expert on the various materials (Plastics/Polys/PVC/etc.) used in 3d printing, but one of the arms coming up off of the twist assembly that the fleshlight housing locks into snapped easily. Perhaps it could have been avoided with a harder material, better printer…or whatever magical combo makes for a better bond between layers as the printer makes several passes to build up the three-dimensional object from the CAD file.
I have since purchased another SR6, and a FunSR1 from Alibaba. Never thought I would wish my money well in such a way, but I was pleasantly surprised. Both arrived fast, and of sound quality. The print quality is so immaculate that I’m gonna say it’s not 3D printed at all. I believe its cast in a mold.
Servos are all made in China. Better servos are given higher strength ratings, in kilograms. In that regard, the higher the better to a certain extent. You don’t want the robot to be overworking itself under normal usage, but you also don’t want it to snap you like a twig when it becomes self-aware and SkyNet starts running the show.
It is quieter than the printed and assembled in the USA made in China version.
There is definitely nothing cooler that the 6 axis approach to ED and gooning on weekends, but hands down.. (literally) nothing to this day beats TheHandy. I have overheated the crap out of mine so many times, and just kept unplugging and plugging it back in, and keeping a wet wash cloth between the toy and the boys to prevent burning myself and keep the show going. On manual mode, the built in failsafe functions well…and shuts TheHandy down fast when it senses an overload. On Wi-Fi mode it doesn’t give a flip! I’ve already pledged on KickStarter for the new model 2!
The Keon was not at all impressive to me. My imagination is quite good, but mounting for hands free seemed as it would be quite ridiculous.
The worst of all is the X3, and all the claims being made in regards to speed/volume are flat out lies. Mine lasted no more than an hour. Went back and forth emailing the owner, and was credited a full refund to my surprise. However, after much constructive criticism…the guy obviously paid off the owner of FapTap, and there is one website comparing a Top 10 list that puts this POS tin can toy at the top. I’d be frantic to get rid of 1,000 plus units as well, but cant imagine how many unknowing victims will be claimed. We’re talking same price point as TheHandy, for absolute garbage.
Intro Tips for enjoyment
for your PC, locate and download MultiFunPlayer and XtPlayer. These will both allow your computer to pass control of the SR6 to several Media Player options. Of the Media Player options, these can be directly installed on your PC or remotely installed on a Meta Quest 2 or newer VR Headset. This is how you get into that truly immersive world of multi-script VR porn.
Between MFP and XTP, you maximize the compatibility across most any accessible funscript pay sites, or local playback of saved videos.
I recommend HereSphere for all the local stuff on the VR headset, with Pigassus coming in at number 2 imo.
If youre wanting to watch and work all from the same PC, VLC media player will get the job done.
If your PC doesnt meet the sys requirements for meta link or airlink, do not fret. Virtual Desktop Streamer will become your best friend. You can throw every video and funscript in a single folder and run them directly from your headset this way. Or you can use the same folder without virtual desktop if you grant shared access on the PC, and keep in mind what the media path is, such as DESKTOP2808-MPC/c/videos/interactive. DLNA or SMB sharing are the two things youll learn about quickly and they are lifesavers considering the file size of a quality VR video.
Each USB port is known as a COM Port, and thats the only way to tie in with a Serial device running T-Code that I know of, although a Bluetooth Arduino board is on the market. Those with far more knowledge in coding could probably explain why that isnt a thing yet.
Avya something or other online is a tool you can use to test the function of your SR6 out of the box just to make sure everything is good.
There are some downloads JAvascript files you have to track down online..youll find a writeup somewhere in this community.
It’s a ton of hassle to get it up and running, doing all the things you want to do…but for the overall experience it is definitely worth it. I suggest the Alibaba route, and limiiting the bells and whistles to the twist option, and upgraded servos.
Best of luck
