Pimax Crystal Super and VR porn

Hey all,

I’m looking to upgrade my vr headset and was looking at some options for high end headsets, in particular I was looking at the Pimax Crystal Super,

I currently have a Quest 3 and I’m wondering if I’ll be able to tell the difference in video quality between the two headsets.

Any thoughts on this?

it’s the first device i’ve used where it didn’t feel like i was looking at a screen, the quest 3 is good but the crystal feels like it takes that next step.
it’s a bit rich for my budget so i’ll wait until it comes down. also i’ve been burned by getting the latest and greatest VR tech before. i’m happy to let it become more firm footed in the market.

I’ve owned the original Pimax Crystal. It’s the highest PPD I’ve seen, but I don’t think it’s good for VR porn.

The biggest downside are the glass lenses. It makes the visuals not have edge-to-edge clarity and has a small-ish sweet spot. Meaning the edges look blurry but looking straight ahead looks clear. Common scenario would be standing doggy. If you were to look down, most of the ass is blurry because it’s not in the sweet spot

So I have the Pimax 8KX - have been very happy with it for a few years…

Have you used that before? Any thoughts on that?

I’ve owned the HTC VIVE and stuff like that also, but have never compared the 8KX to like the meta 3 or anything like that. I can’t imagine having a more narrow FOV and and maybe the same / lower spec’d lenses? (I could be wrong on the specs of lenses though) …
