Play VR videos From NAS Using Heresphere / DeoVR

Recently set up a NAS server (Synology DS920+) to store all my media including my VR porn collection. After transferring everything over I really haven’t had any issues, my PC recognizes it and I can access everything through File Explorer so ScriptPlayer works perfectly still. But I realized the other day that I can’t seem to get Heresphere or DeoVR to “see” my NAS’s files even though it’s all accessible from my computer which is then also running the VR program on my headset (through Oculus/Quest Link).

Anyone else run into this problem? Did you find a solution? Unfortunately I’m just tech savvy enough to be interested in all these cool technologies, but not savvy enough to understand what I’m doing half the time.

I run xbvr in a container on my Synology. It makes all my videos accessible from HereSphere in a nice gallery view. There’s a tutorial here on EroScripts…

Assuming you are on windows, you can map an smb folder like it’s a local filesystem.

You assign a drive letter and point it to the same path you normally access the folder from the NAS.

I don’t know if the Oculink way will work but this is how I do it with my Valve Index.
