There’s this discussion from the link above that happened a long time ago. I’m writing this with similar interest, but from the opposite side and with tags in mind instead of sections/categories (just as the linked discussion evolved).
Since the new tag limit was greatly increased, can we create a new tag for real porn just like there’s animation, hentai, cgi and such?
With the current way where real porn is “the standard” and other forms of media are tagged accordingly, we have tools to filter out those other forms of media, but there’s no real way to filter out videos with real actors. Filtering out jav, vr and pmv does some heavy lifting on that regard, but there are still a lot of strays that could be tagged.
Multiple errors occurred: 1) You must include at least 1 real tag. The tags in this group are: animation, animated, real. 2) You must include at least 1 vr tag. The tags in this group are: vr, jav-vr, non-vr.
what’s animated
ah its an alias
maybe delete it?
Also please try deleting 0-5 again maybe it’ll work this time
Please add Hentai and maybe Cartoon as options there
CGI may make sense but everyone will confuse it with Animated, maybe add it as well
And jav maybe?
Do we really need non-vr? Maybe we do but I doubt it’s needed unleast it’s vr+non-vr
Sorry for being nosy since I don’t know how Discourse works nor what kinds of access you have, but is it possible that the posts that had the old tag still have the ID of that old tag on them as a foreign key, but no matching row to attach to since it was deleted? If that’s the case, would it be possible to reindex the old tag to the ID of the new tag (or forcefully change the ID of the new tag to the ID of the old one)?
I’m just throwing my thoughts out here because I had a “similar but different” problem at work recently, but again, I don’t know how Discourse handles that.
some of the things im planning on fixing is how the forum is run.
right now it’s a docker container that has everything inside it including the database, which isn’t publically facing so exploring the database directly is a bit challenging at the moment without rebuilding the container, the problem which is docker is not good enough to reproducibly deploy discourse. we paid for this dearly a couple times at this point from doing updates.
When I migrate the forum the database will not be containerized and neither will discourse.
Backups as well right now are daily database dumps managed by discourse. I will change this to be WAL pushing to S3 storage so I have point in time restore capabilities.
Making changes to the forum right now comes with that risk.
It’s not the end of the world, we can do those tags again.
Protip
I just learned negated searches are possible but only for tags. #scripts -tag:len-0-2,len-5-10,len-10-25,len-25-60,len-60-plus,len-multiple
This searches for posts that lack len-2-5 tag (and the other non-len tags)
Sorry, I’ll annoy you with one last thing. When I went to tag a post back with len-2-5, this happened:
You must include at least 1 real tag. The tags in this group are: hentai, cartoon, animation, animated, real.
It’s not a question about the error, but about the group of tags. It’s VERY rare, but there are posts like these where there’s no video nor audio, so it wouldn’t be any of those required tags:
Maybe it would make sense to make the required tags animation, real, audio and “script-only” (or something along those lines). Those 4 tags should cover everything, what do you think?
In the case of the other current required tags (hentai, cartoon, animated), I personally think they aren’t fit to be on the group because:
So if you have the DB backup you may merge tags after you get DB built so you have outside access to it?
Timing is less important then ability to restore
