Scripting with touchscreen device

Hi all,

General question here for scriptors. Has anyone tried scripting with a touch screen device? Seeing that OFS has the record feature, I’m wondering if anyone has had success scripting with a touchscreen?

Using the record feature can sometimes be clunky and hard to get accurate with a mouse, but a touchscreen and stylus seems like it would make it so much more easier and accurate? Just drawing the stokes instead of the mouse following?

Just curious to see anyones experience with the record feature as well.

I’ve been trying to figure out literally any other method besides using a keyboard and numpad. My hands get cramped up after a while.

I would give up on Record unless it’s a slow predictable scene, though.

fwiw you can re-map your keys to whatever, not just numpad.
From my emulator days, I’m betting it’s possible to do some janky workarounds to get mouse movement x/y+/- to map to a key and have that as ‘move action’ up, down, left, right, but can’t speak of how fine-tuned it would be. Might be a fun afternoon project.

I was thinking about this. I feel like because the current implementation would require 100 presses to get from 0 to 100%, you’d need something that could go in intervals of 10 or something. Maybe an lua addon could override a bind or something, and then you could just move a cursor up or down quickly to pick a point between 0 and 100. It could potentially be as smooth as if you were adjusting the volume or scrolling down a web page with 2 fingers.

So you could just plot a 5 and then adjust it or something.
Can’t seem to figure out where I can remove the default behavior of the mousewheel that zooms in the timeline…

I dunno, this might be just about the same effort as plotting the point.
If I could increase the scroll sensitivity on my touchpad, that’d be cool.

I’ve tried using a WACOM tablet with a stylus years ago, but I wasn’t satisfied with the results. I always had to go back and clean up what I did frame by frame. You could do it but it’ll be a lengthy adjustment period and still won’t be perfect

100%. I think it’s possible but it would require lots of clean up considering the recording features amount of points as well as transitioning/adjustments.
If I’m scripting for just myself I think it could work, but anything published for sure needs more lifting.
Will update everyone of what I come up with @hentaiprodigy69 @bumdude
