Wouldn’t it be a good idea to have a secondary communication channel with the community in case things go south? Last year when the site was down for a few days the only way for you to reach us was through Patreon messages and Reddit. I think opening a Discord channel ahead of any major changes to the site would be a good idea to keep us updated in case something goes wrong and the downtime is extended.
In any case, thank you for everything you guys do to keep the site running.
I have some ideas about discord down the line.
For now, I don’t foresee any major issues, it’s just DNS.
Worst case scenario, the DNS takes longer than expected to propagate.
The provider we are switching to I have experience with, and propagation is very fast.
The domain is now transferring to the new domain registrar.
New DNS nameservers are already prepared to take over.
We are not anticipating any downtime.
The transfer is now complete.
I am removing the old DNS nameservers.
If anyone is seeing the site is down. It is not down, your nameservers are being mismanaged by bad IT guys (your ISP is at fault.)
I will be checking reddit and such for any issues.
