So you want to watch VR Porn in 23/24? [Review/Experience Share]

So i’ll share my experience today. This thread was awesome to find. Thanks those that contributed to it.

I’ve had a Quest 2 for years, didn’t do much VR porn because it wasn’t that amazing to me. Recently bought a handy, and tried it on some regular flat videos and their chrome plugin. Didn’t seem worth the trouble. Figured i’d try combining VR and the handy and looked into how. Most googles say just install DeoVR and subscribe to SLR. So i did that, found it super easy to setup, and my mind was blown.

The SLR scripts are amazing, one where the girl gets her butt slapped and you can see the shock wave travel across the checks and feel it through the handy… OMG. But the lack of content depth and kinks on SLR got noticeable quick, especially since i prefer cosplay. So i looked into how to view VRcosplayX the same way as SLR… O it’s a different app, and you have to do these tricks to sideload it.
Alright.
HereSphere. The GUI was not intuitive, all googling for where to find Handy controls tells you you have to install the beta version and it’s in the user settings (spoiler, neither are true anymore) so lost 1-2 hours messing with Steam and betas and steam link for nothing. I wish those reddit and forum posts about beta get deleted, please. Get it sorted, pull up VRCosplayX, and… well these scripts suck. Just feel lazy, i guess they must be AI or basic auto detection. Sit there during a grinding or gripping moment and it’s just holding still. SLR was doing all sorts of magic trips to keep the illusion real. Figure there’s got to be some community or something the takes pride in better scripts. Also it’ just randomly doesn’t show all the videos. Thats Cool…

Find here, find this thread (forgot what i was searching for, probably the VRcosplayx not showing all videos issue) and then see @Islanti note about XBVR. Ok, i’m a plex user, this just sounds like plex for VR porn and “the easy way” to do all the streaming and handy integration to my quest.

An hour fighting docker, NFS, SMB, and Truenas on my file server, and I’m running. This is a dream! Time to start downloading… And now according to my router i’ve downloaded 2.5TB of data in a 24 hour period. Mostly just the last 12 hours though.

So yeah, that was my day starting with HereSphere VRcosplayX issue and starting with XBVR (mostly stuck in the house because i was sick anyway). This community feels awesome and friendly, already have a few dozen tabs opened of scripts i want to download/buy in the coming days. Tried one tonight, and it was definitely SLR quality, if not moreso.

It’s a slippery slope friend!

Geez now i don’t know what to purchase first, more HDDs or the Quest 3.

Like the structure, what do the revisions (v1,2,3) mean?

It’s actually my shorthand for volume. My Synology NAS has a primary 6x16TB volume in the unit (volume1), plus two addition 5x16TB additional enclosures (volume2, volume3). They are presented as separate file systems so I have to mount each one.

volume4 is overflow space on another NAS, but I haven’t started using it yet.

I may end up using volume4 for my very full Plex server though…

So actual newbie question, in the XBVR flat interface you can hit the big “scripted” button to only see scenes with scripts, but in VR, in HereSphere in API mode, is their equivalent quick sort? Short of going through and tagging all the scenes with a custom “scripted” tag?

You want to hit the save icon, name the list, and check “Use as DeoVR list”. Then it will show up across the top of the UI in HereSphere next to “Watchlist” and a few others.

Note that whatever sort order you choose when you save it will carry over as the default view in HereSphere. You can override it with HereSphere’s controls. I like “Last Viewed Date” so the scenes I haven’t watched recently show up first.
