SR6 ATW vs OSR2+ ATW?

I know the SR6 version of all the way is only $70 more right now, but is it worth it? Are there even that many scripts out there that utilize the additional parameters and modules compared to the OSR2+? What would you say makes the jump worth it or not?

If this is your first foray into multi-axis strokers and you have the money and what not, you might as well go all the way. If you’re trying to be a bit more frugal or smart about your purchases and trying to assess value out of every dollar you spend then thats a separate thing.

If there are unused axises: Turn single-axis to multi-axis(this is literally the third time I’ve pointed to this thread within a week I think)

For what I understand from the community, you do NOT need to go all the way.

“All the way” for both ORS and SR6 just adds, twisting, suction, heating and self lubing.

Of those functions, twisting is the major one that adds an additional axis of motion that adds a lot to the sensation of scripts. Some people find it to be too much, some people swear by it. It is highly recommended to at least get a twist receiver if you’re looking for something beyond the basic axises provided by each device.

All suction does is open up a hole to allow air in and out as the device strokes up and down. This has been more or less been emulated without the need of a servo by fleshlight: Boost sleeve and case, just the case. Honestly someone could probably design something that functions similarly since all you need is the endcap if you have a fleshlight case. Its literally a plastic end cap with a rubber seal at the end.

Most people don’t feel the need for self lubing and find that as long as you’ve used a generous amount you’re mostly fine without needing that function.

Heating does add a lot since it emulates human warmth but it locks you into the sleeves that will fit into the case. Since some people like using other form factors they just use heating sticks or you can just soak your sleeve in warm(not boiling) water to heat it up before hand. Warming up the lube also works.

As for OSR2 vs SR6, the jump from single-axis to multi-axis is an immeasurable jump in quality. Single-axis strokers to just an OSR2 is a big difference(like 100%-200%). From OSR2 to SR6 is still a jump in quality but is less of a jump(like 200%-250). So again this a bang for your buck situation.

Note: This is mostly an opinion compiled from people in the community. I own an OSR2 with Twist but not an SR6.

Anyways.

The major issue with adding more axises(osr2->sr6) and more functions(twist, suction, heating, lubing) is that you have more moving parts. These are all DIY hobbyist machines so warranties and support aren’t as guaranteed as something bought through a company like Handy or Kiiroo or Lovense, etc. The more functions and moving parts you have, the more points of failure you have.

You could save money on not buying functions that you won’t get that much use out of or use at all. For instance you’ll probably have to buy cables/power supplies for the devices if they aren’t included. You can also use that money to buy monitor arms for better mounting.

If you have the money and are willing to burn it, go all the way for either form factor. But here’s all of the information you might need before making a big purchase.
