Star / review system for paid scripts?

Hey everyone :waving_hand: just a quick thought.

Would it make sense to add a simple star or review system for paid scripts?

I’ve bought some scripts lately that were perfectly synced and functional, but honestly pretty low quality in terms of dynamics. Basically 0% or 100% length, no intermediate motion, no finesse, no sense of depth or pacing. Just… Robotic, to give it an adjective.

A lightweight rating system on topics could:

  • Help us buyers filter for quality more easily
  • Give new scripters clearer feedback
  • Motivate existing sellers to improve if they want better reputation or sales volume!

Not trying to bash anyone, I’m just sharing my two cents and curious what others think.

Y/N?

This has been proposed before. We will are in favor of it but a plugin would need to be made for discourse for this to happen.

Found this one: Topic Ratings Plugin - Plugin - Discourse Meta (GitHub - paviliondev/discourse-ratings: A Discourse plugin that lets you use topics to rate things) but,

I wish I could help. I’m a software eng, but 0% experience with Discourse

It would be good, some sell scripts that really aren’t worth it. Essentially if someone doesn’t provide some complete scripts for free then I typically won’t trust them.

I agree, some creators mass output paid scripts that were obviously done via AI fungen with little to no modification. A little user feedback could help new users not fall into a trap of paying money for a poor product, while conversely informing users of worthwhile scripts.

This would be really cool in helpful for paid scripts, but could also extended to free scripts. Currently the only way to sort is limited, and if one is looking through the backlog for a hidden gem it is tedious to scroll through pages and pages.

It would also be nice to use the star rating as a filter and to only show post with so many stars. Of course I am no software engineer, so dont know how fesible this is. I am just a dreamer.
