I’m trying to get a Stash setup running on my Windows 10 PC so that I can watch VR and 2d content on my Quest 2. Unfortunately, virtually every guide assumes that Stash is running off a Linux-based NAS. Mine is not because I was too lazy and cheap. I just have a big ol internal 16TB drive in my PC. Previously, I set it up as a SMB share and browsed via Heresphere. This worked fine, but I like the idea of previews, tags, etc. etc.
So… I managed to get Stash running and working in the default, port 9999 setup.
I can browse this on my PC, phone, and Quest 2 just fine. Everything plays in the Stash video player. BUT Stash video player is kinda ass, and most importantly, it does not support true VR by default.
Looking into my options, it seems like Stash-VR OR Stash Vr-companion is the way to go. BUT then we run into Linux fun.
I downloaded and I THINK I managed to get Docker Desktop working??? This was a whole process. Then I THINK I managed to create a container for the latest version of Stash-VR.
9999 still works, but when I try to access the suggested 9666 port (by launching through Docker Desktop OR manually entering it into my browser) I get THIS:
Docker shows me THIS:
I am lost. I think that you’re supposed to “point” Stash VR at the regular Stash instance? I have no idea where or how to do that. Again, every guide assumes I am just running Linux and have Linux commands.
Is what I am asking even possible? Should I abandon the idea of getting this to run on my Windows PC and just settle for flat content through Stash? Do I start over from scratch with something else like XBVR?
Please help lol
Edit: I should also mention that I want this setup to work with scripts for both the Handy and my OSR2 multi-axis (preferably through MFP, but whatever works at this point). I am not married to Heresphere over DeoVR or something else, but I know Heresphere from my previous setup. I just want it to work SOMEHOW.
