Suggestion to add a new rule to the free script category that makes it so the video that the script is about has to be free

For the past few days of scrolling through the free script category I’ve been seeing creators making the scripts free but the video is locked behind a pay wall. It really just beats the purpose entirely, and makes it confusing on why not just making a paid script for it.

Like sure, it’s a free script. But is it really free when the video you just have to go and pay for? And a few more creators refuse to let free alternatives to be known, adding in a no free link tag.
I get why people do it, wanting people to show actual support for the creator, but really it might as well be put into the paid for category because you’re still paying.

Also doing so will probably make people less likely to lash out at the script maker, causing more problems than it would be if it were just in the paid script category.

Maybe a new tag, free video, or paid video then?

hmm, Alright, I’m reading your post through ChatGPT’s translation, and it seems like you’ve misunderstood something.

Most of the script creators here do not own the rights to the videos.

It’s your responsibility to find a matching video for the script.

I’ve taken that into consideration before making the feedback. I still stand by what I said. What little difference is there to just putting it in the paid script category, they can even make their own script paid for if that helps. There’s most likely plenty of OF videos on the paid script side that have it to where you’ll have to get the content through there.

I have to agree with HInamuraSG… Also most of the videos are not hard to get with a little searching/piracy. If you cant afford it thats another option, not a good one but like HInamuraSG said, most of the videos are not made by the scripters.

I can already tell you this won’t happen.
The the free scripts section is for just that free-scripts.
The video content has no obligation to be free.

If there is a no-free-links tag on the topic then you won’t find any video link! You need to subscribe to the site or find a video elsewhere.

If there isn’t a no-free-links tag on the topic then there’s a good chance there’s a link available. It might not be working anymore since videos on pornhub, spankbang, xvideos, mega etc. are taken down every now and then.

I’d like to point out a small differentiation here: If we’re talking about person X creating a free script for somebody else’s video (studio, OF, etc.), I agree with HInamuraSG.

However, recently there has been an uptick in people using the site to promote their own paid video content by free scripts. In other words, you can’t use the “free” script by person X without paying money to that same person X for the video. In that latter case I lean towards the OP’s suggestion.

This is a bit amusing, because the site people used before this one existed - RealTouchScripts - actually worked like that. The “free” category was about the availability of the media, not the scripts. Nobody charged for scripts back then. Quite a few people towards the end were confused by that way of categorizing posts.

Doing that here would be stupid. I’d estimate that 95% or more of the videos can be found for free, if you put in a modicum of effort to find it. That’s the minimum you must do if you don’t want to pay for things.

And you really shouldn’t be complaining about people who put in a non-trivial amount of time to script something then give it away for free. If you’re unable to secure the media that was scripted, that’s on you.

Free script catagory doesn’t meant free script + free video, only free script so I disagree with this.
Despite myself feeling that no direct download means it isn’t free (patreon sign up or gumroad $0) as then the script is lost if something occurs off site that results in it’s deletion. (patreon and gumroad have banned scripters off them)

If you want to have the video be freely ask-able make sure you set the no-free-links tag to mute as if the tag is present you can’t ask for someone else to provide you with the link. But that doesn’t guarantee you’ll get the video.

Sure they did. Maybe not flat videos, but most VR scripts were sold via a site called SyncArmy back then.

Those were late-comers to the site. And many of those were, in fact, the ones confused by the forum layout where “paid scripts” meant the media was paid, not the script itself.
