Using torrent for video+funscript sharing

We are using a bunch of downloader tools, and also searching for exact videos with exact timings in case of dead links.
All of these could be avoided if we would just switch to torrent, video and scripts could have “archived” in the same torrent.
I would be happy to seed for felow EroScript users.

I would love to hear opinions on the above topic.

That would directly conflict with rule nr 2 which I doubt they’ll change anytime soon:

" Types of links allowed

You can link to material hosted on another platform if we can redirect any takedown requests or legal issues to them. (eg. pornhub, mega)

Do not link to material hosted by an individual (eg. seedbox) or a peer to peer site (eg. torrents)."

Torrents run into immediate legal trouble and would eventually get the site shutdown. Remember we are a FunScripts site, not a media hosting site.

Due to recent bringing up of torrents again in another thread I noticed that how the rules don’t disallow you mentioning a torrent site, only linking to it or pushing people to it.
So if someone was specific and careful with their wording could they put in the video link list mention of a torrent site and the torrent ID? (Or just in the notes)

E.g.

[Gofile link here]
[Pixeldrain link here]

Last resort

If all previous links are down and you understand the dangers of torrents here is a last resort: It’s uploaded on Torrent site with the ID of [ID]. Do not link it in the comment as I do not endorse torrenting, I am only mentioning this as a last resort and at your own risk.

I’m basing what I’ve said off my understanding of what is said in the general rules and from seeing this topic where links were removed but comments mentioning a torrent site and it’s torrent ID number remained: PIXIEFUCK [Digitera] (There are other topics where mentioning torrent site were okay)

PS I do not endorse or encourage torrenting to be done on here or linked here, I am looking for clarification to make it clear to others whom bring it up slightly again to refer them to this.

While I would definitely like for this to be allowed, especially with a good private tracker like emp, it does definitely seem like it’s just skirting around the rules, and I can see the admins changing the rules to directly disallow that as well. I feel like that one post in particular is just one they didn’t notice.

I understand the legal worry of setting up a dedicated eroscripts tracker or having scripters hosting their own copy of content (despite e-hentai doing similar for decades without major worry). I don’t understand disallowing links to a torrents page. Copyright takedown requests could be issues to that tracker and the comment could be removed, basically the same as linking to a file sharing host or streaming site. Both are hosting copyrighted content and neither are hosted directly on eroscripts.

Can someone correct me if I’m wrong?

I believe linking to the torrent itself is enough cause for legal trouble to occur since if the lawyers can’t get the torrent site…they can get those whom look affiliated by having the links, links which you need to be an account holder of to get and view usually. Saying the torrent ID is saying the same thing but you still need to get onto the site and look for said ID or name of the torrent, there’s nothing from that which confirms it’s existence compared to a link.

That’s why as a result of it being left alone in the topic I linked as an example, I believe that maybe just saying the site and ID is okay but instead of trial by fire and cause the site to get hit with a lawsuit…I’m asking about it since if I’ve noticed it, it’s only matter of time before someone else maybe puts it into practice or tries something a step further like hiding the details in a zipped password protected file hosted on some other site and just linking that to the post.

EDIT: I’m still left with my question up in the air of:
