Hey everyone, hoping for some input. I have a osr2+ (by g90ak it’s awesome!) normally I play funscripts through mfp using its built in video player. It works well and reliably which I value.
Lately I’ve been really wanting to try vr content, but the price point has made that impossible. So the main question is: is it worth it to buy a used quest 2 as an entry into vr? Will it work (well and easily) with mfp? If not what would the set up look like?
Anyway sorry to ramble but I appreciate any advice y’all have to give. Thanks!
Hi, yes that would work fine with MFP and will work with lots of video but may struggle above say 5k. But definitely better than not trying it, it’s a lot of fun!
The Quest 2 is still a solid option to enter VR porn as it can perfectly handle 8K videos which is the standard for every week new releases. The only thing you’d be missing out is on proper passthrough videos, but that’s still kind of a niche and a minority of the new videos being released every week.
Once you have one, I’d recommend setting up XBVR + Heresphere and you are golden. It may be a bit daunting at the beginning but it pays out big time once you get it up and running.
I love the Quest 3 but it just had a price bump due to the RAM shortage crisis. I think that if it gets a discount on Black Friday / Cyber Monday it would be to about the price it had before the increase. Since the OP is asking for an entry point to VR it would be hard to recommend. A used Quest 2 is a good alternative.
Thanks everyone! I ended up getting a quest 2 for cheap. Assuming I enjoy it I will likely save up for a quest 3 in the future, I’m sure the picture quality is significantly better on new models. Now on to figure out how to work this thing. Likely gonna get confused in the process, but I’m sure I’ll get it to work. Anyone have recommendations on threads explaining the process? I’d like to stay in mfp, since I have figured out how to use it well. But if I need to move to a different app then so be it.
I don’t blame him but people should try to get stuff early if possible I forgot the quest 3 is a standalone headset so of course the price increased granted by the time black friday comes the price should be back to normal so what I said still counts ram is crashing as we speak
well im struggling with the setup, i worked through the explanation of setting up xbvr but im unable to match any scripts to videos. could i dm for some additional help?
