I realised that I like long and believable introductions to scenes. Basically the director doesn’t have to rush to the performance. But the screenplay needs to be good and give time to know the characters a little bit more.
Which VR studios at the moment does the most believable and long instructions for the scenes?
That’s more a thing you get in JAV scenes. Western studios mostly suck at that. Japanese studios have to do it cause with censoring things are a bit different and they have to be a bit more creative with stuff since back then. So yeah not really a recommendations or anything, but you can find that in JAV a lot (sometimes 20 - 30 minutes of just introduction and having a story around the fucking).
This somewhat fits the bill but you do see more instructions and what goes on for making VR scenes while being a full scene

All right, I took a look at the first 5 minutes just to understand what you were talking about. This is meta cinema; it’s very interesting. I got truly engaged in watching it. This is exactly what VR could be using its potential for. In my opinion, studios should really invest in acting and screenplay quality for this medium and give more acting lines to the scenes. Another amazing thing I think is worth doing is emulating what JAV is doing. For example, they have more scenes that simulate meeting the same person over several days, showing an evolution in the characters’ emotions. The potential for this is enormous from a screenplay perspective.
Personally, I just wish to spend some time with the person I see there, even if I’m consciously aware that it’s acting. In VR, this is great even before the performance, even if it’s just a talk without an interesting screenplay. They could improvise talking to get to know each other better; that would already be enough.
On one hand, this eases the awkwardness of meeting strangers. I believe it is more enriching on an emotional level, not just for more visceral needs. Therefore, the final product is something entirely different. If that weren’t enough, some people feel lonely, and I wonder if this way of storytelling could bring a bit of companionship.
I hope western studios will invest more time in this during 2025.
Stepdad, im stuck in the washing machine.
As much as it is a classic, its sadly the average quality they deliver. Sure, some think they can be creative here. But it never feels realistic. and yes, thats 4 videos doing the same joke just to indicate how unoriginal it is
