Why is this community so full of ****?

I’ve been sharing my scripts here for about three months now and personally, I’ve had a pretty positive experience with most users I’ve interacted with. And I can definitely second that showing appreciation and constructive feedback can work wonders.
Just, never be entitled or demand anything from scripters since most of them do it for free. I for one do it for myself primarily and then decide to share them with others secondary. If there are other weirdos like me who get off to the same stuff I like, then that’s a win/win in my book. It’s kinda rewarding in its own way when you live in an environment where talking about this stuff is stigmatized and frowned upon.

I’ve spent a while debating what to say on this topic. I should read through and see what others have said. But, I want my response to be my own words and not influenced by others.

First of all, thank you for starting this thread. I am embarrassed that it wasn’t obvious to me that the idea of thanking content creators for their work was important. I think this was because in American culture (I was raised in the United States), anything related to sex is generally a taboo topic. How does one politely say, “Thanks for making this script. It has made masturbating so much more enjoyable.” As a sexually repressed American, that statement is really difficult to write – let alone say. I don’t know whether this influences other people’s actions or not. Because of your post, I am working on remembering to say thank you more often. It is still uncomfortable. Nevertheless, saying thank you to someone who has put hours into creating something that I enjoy… that’s the beginning of courtesy and polite behavior.

As to the anti-piracy comments, I agree. When I was in my teens, I wanted to be a software developer and to make games. At that time, pirating games seemed trivial to me. I couldn’t afford the games, and I wanted to play them. Piracy was my easiest option. Then I realized that if I pirate other people’s games, it would be hypocritical for me to get mad when other people pirate my games. It was a difficult time for me. I wanted the games. I could get the games for free. And yet, I wanted future me to be able to be indignant and angry with a clean conscience.

At a basic level, if we have the means to purchase a sex toy that is able to leverage funscripts, it seems reasonable that we can afford to pay for a subscription to an adult website. To me, that argument makes reasonable sense. It’s kind of like, “If you don’t have the money to tip, you don’t have the money to go out to dinner.” Owning a car includes the requirement to purchase gasoline. Subscribing to an adult website is (in my mind) like buying gas for my car.

I think the problem here is that piracy is so common that people are used to talking about it openly. It reminds me of when someone at church offered to “burn me a copy” of professionally produced religious music which they thought I would enjoy. The fact that they were offering me an illegally produced copy of the music didn’t even cross their mind.

And so, there are likely many people on this forum who don’t realize that when they talk about openly about piracy, there are other people on this forum who earn some or all of their income in the adult industry. Some people work for companies that produce or publish the content. Some people earn money selling funscripts. And so on. Piracy threatens these people’s livelihoods.

And yet, somehow, it never occurs to many of these people that their open discussions about piracy in front of (and sometimes on the threads created by) people who earn their income from the adult industry is fundamentally rude. It would be like walking into a corner market, standing in front of the owner, and talking about how awesome shoplifting is.

At least, that is my $0.02. Again, thank you for starting this thread. I will continue to work on remembering to say thank you.

I agree it is not black and white. Freedom of speech with moderation and consequences is the name of the game today.

Truth is scripters are a stepping stone to AI generated scripts. It is not a matter of if, it will happen. The issue is only companies with capital will likely be able to afford or pioneer AI generated scripts.

In the mean time we should do our best to appreciate and respect scripters. This goes doubly so for the ones willing to share their work for free. Once a VR porn company develops a decent AI generator for scripts it will make scripts faster and with more accuracy than a person can and they WILL NOT BE FREE. The funscript file extension cannot be patented. Scripters will always exist but it will be even more niche when all streaming sites support “interactive porn.” It is happening before our eyes.

Bottom line is have respect, speak with kindness, you don’t know what you got till its gone.

@hugecat is there a way to add custom badges? Maybe we can make custom badges to apply to bad actors. Like the company tag comes to mind as an example.

alot of the videos ive found were on ecchi.iwara when it comes to hentai, porn i found mostly here and when searching for cock heros on milovana. and scripts i found in an archive that id have to dig up again but it was a script archive for some sort of cock hero pmv player that would shuffle them randomly

oh i see what you’re saying. and to be fair i agree. i’ve experienced how long it can take to manually make a script that is only 5 minutes long. let alone an hour. it took me 5 hours to make one once. so for someone to make one that is an hour long it would take days. so i can understand why they would ask for money.

my gripe with paid scripts is very simple. they always want to use sites that need crypto i tried to buy a script on said site and it took days just to make my account and have it aprooved for cryptobase or whatever the crypto account was called. just for the site to tell me i dont have the funds when i do again.

so i dont have a problem paying i have a problem with them using sites that only accept crypto that dont work and seem like a scam to me. use patreon. use gumroad use pixiv fanbox for all i care as long as when i try to buy something it actually gives me what i paid for i dont care.

there are scripts i would pay for but i genuinely don’t trust most of the pay methods. I won’t use crypto and epoch saves your banking info and has a history of not being trustworthy. i would much rather like venmo a person for a script or pay them through patreon or something than use something like sexlikereal where i genuinely don’t trust their payment processors. for me at least it is far less that i don’t want to pay, and far more i don’t trust the payment method. i once paid for propertysex just to try it out and i had to close my cc because of unrecognized charges for things i did not pay for.
