A debug log would be helpful. Launch into debug with the debug bat file.
Well, it just donāt like config from 0.47b i tried to put in looks like
debug allow to reset config to default and it works
but thatās sad, set all configs manually again from scratch(
Not sure what you mean exactly or what happened but sorry you had to setup everything again. There is an export settings function so you can keep a backup file elsewhere in case something like this happens.
well, i mean backup files from 0.47b donāt work with new version
if i try to import all my settings from 0.47b to new one - it donāt start anymore
so if i wanna go for new version - i should do all settings manually i guess
0.47b still works fine, i have all my settings here)
Oh I see, you donāt need to import your settings to the new one. Should be able to just start v0.5 and continue using it.
The backup was for if you wanted to move back a version.
Still, importing settings shouldnāt hurt anything. Not sure what happened there.
You can put a file settings.json in the same directory as the XTPlayer.exe file and it will save settings to it. Will be like starting over fresh and wont affect your 0.47b settings that are stored in the global registry.
Non of this should be required. If you just start 0.5 like normal it will use the global settings the same as 0.47b does. The backup/retore is āJust in caseā scenario
well, 0.5 starting with default settings for me, not mine
it doesnāt take my settings from 0.47b, so i tried to import it
but if i do so - it doesnāt start at all, until i go to debug and reset to default
my 0.47b instance still have all my settings, but thatās it
0.5 i can start fresh or it donāt start at all
This is very odd, They both use the same settings system. 0.5 added json format but that shouldnt affect anything if thereās no settings.json in the exe directory.
This is Windows? Like I said, a log output could be helpful. If you want to send me your settings file, I could try to import it on my dev machine and see whats going on.
I have asked this with previous releases (sorry), but are thumbnails working on Mac now? Thank you for your work on this app by the way.
Should be, the new 0.5b release is using ffmpeg instead of the OS media system which on mac which leaves allot to be desired. I think it worked before just MacOS media system doesnt support many codecs by default.
Its built in the latest mac os (Sequoia) though so you need to be on that version. I have a ventura system setup for building now so I should release the next version built with it.
Let me know how it goes. Ive not heard any feedback yet except a crash. If you need a Ventura build I can send you that.
Just heard from someone on discord. Sounds like apple silicon may have some issue. I dont have any apple silicon to test with. They did say they got it to work pretty well with parallels. I assume thats with the windows build.
not sure if im the only one but 5.0 seems to not use full speed. like its trying to dampen the speed a little. wont feel vibrations or hit the end of a stroke as strong as older versions.. not sure if i have setting wrong or something.
Other than the playback rate modifier. I dont recall any changes to the funscript system in this version. The only thing that modifies the time is the offset, range modifier and playback rate modifier. If any of these are active then the movement will be modified. Other than the playback rate modifier, the base system hasnāt been changed Iām pretty sure.
Just got the chance to try it. Indeed, it crashes on Apple Silicon when loading thumbnails.
It crashes randomly in my Win10, AMD CPU too, old version donāt do that
Most crashes happen when iām trying to fullscreen video, no matter with double click on it, or with GUI button for that.
Sometimes after crash - itās not even starting again until PC reboot.
When this happens - i go back to older version, and it works
Do you have the popout media library window open when going into full screen? This is a known issue.
Yup, either ill have to get a hold of a newer mac. (I finally got the one I have now and im already outdatedā¦) Or someone with a newer mac with coding knowledge will need to post a build. Considering the price of newer macs, Iām extremely hesitant on buying one. For now I guess only x86 macs are supported. Sorry.
Edit: Apple may have provided a way to cross compile. Iāll see if I can do this on my x86 machine.
I did find an option to cross compile if youāre interested in trying it out.
Yes, would like to test it!
idk how different macs can affect work of build on windows
0.47b works allright
Sorry, I replied to the wrong post. That was meant to go to BigHog.
0.47 is quite a bit different than 0.5. I need to know more details about the crash to atmpet to track the reason down.
Side note: If the app wont start again after crash, check the task manager for running instances and kill them.
