DeoVR dropping DLNA - alternatives?

Heresphere sounds promising, is there any support of dlna? Or going to be? Or am i forced to switch to smb?

Also the main thing for me is to be able to sharp the image on the fly, and maybe adjust brightness.
Due to get life in older 4k. And also most new videos, my quest2 needs that.
Its that possible?

And of course handy script support.
If the fix and get all that i have no problem for a buy of the software

Donā€™t think so, but it should support smb2 and smb3.

The guy behind Heresphere has said both native script support for the Handy, and DLNA support is coming. Seems like script support has the greater priority.

I havenā€™t played around a lot with image adjustment in Heresphere but there are a lot of features for image control within the app, much more than DeoVR.

I have found SMB to be much faster than DLNA. There was a little bit of a lift to set up SMB, but I have zero programming experience and I was able to figure it out.

Well thatā€™s finally some good news to be appreciated. Its a shame it needed so much backlash to be considered. I for one know that streaming 4k or god forbid 8k will take me ages. In the UK the standard basic fibre is still 60-70 Mbit in a lot of areas without the fast fibre infrastructure still being installed. And that isnā€™t to say some back country in the UK, I live in London about 30 minutes away from the center if even that so its still being upgraded. What can we really achieve streaming wise with that? So local network support is a must. Thanks!

If people absolutely need a player that can use DLNA and can sync with script player for scripts on the handy and launch etc. Samsung VR still works. You can get Samsung VR 2.04.2 online very easily (google) and sideload it onto your quest, GO or gear VR.

Few things to know.

1.Itā€™s not a supported player so can only play content held either locally or via DLNA. (it will say not internet connection but still works on your local network.)

2.The scripts have to be named exactly the same as the file and this includes the .mp4 at the end of the name.

3.You have to tell scriptplayer where to look for the scripts by adding the folders in the settings.

  1. If you cant be arsed doing steps 2 and 3 you can preload the script in scriptplayer like you would if using DeoVR and scriptplayer.
