It is insane that I’m even typing this sentence, but this is the 3rd Handy2 Pro I’ve received, and it just up and died overnight. I had noticed a few issues starting to arise over the past week but thought they might just be minor bugs I couldn’t have guessed would lead to the device shitting the bed while I was sleeping.
- Battery indicator showing only 00 dead even after I know it was fully charged.
- Motor makes a grinding and clicking noise on the upward motion even after applying the maintenance kit lubricant.
- Powering on the device, it frequently fails to turn on and instead flashes green, followed by alternating red and orange lights.
That last issue happened on the previous 2 Handy devices I received (OG Kickstarter and replacement for that one)
If you have read any of the few comments on the Handy2 I have left on here, you know I don’t abuse this thing. I don’t make it run demanding scripts constantly; I clean it top to bottom after every use with no harsh chemicals/cleaners; I make sure that nothing gets inside the actual device (bodily fluids or cleaner fluids); and I store it in a safe place where it can’t be damaged from falling over or getting wet or anything like that when not in use.
The Handy2 isn’t the only thing I have had issues with regarding Ohdoki products. Most of the click-on attachments that came with or were ordered separately have all had their magnets come loose from the actual attachments ( 1x The Long Sleeve Holder, 3x The Extender, 4x The Core Sleeve Holder). I think like 1 of the base core sleeve holders I have still has its original glue/magnet in it.
It’s getting to a point where I’m just kind of done and thinking they are just selling faulty products, and I’m at the point where I don’t think I could recommend this specific product to anyone at this point. My original Handy I bought like a year before the 2 launched worked fine, never had any issues, and probably still works fine to this day (haven’t plugged it in since the 2 launched). Funny enough, I emailed Handy CS last night because of the listed issues above. I guess I will have an update for them when they respond.
I’m curious if anyone else has had issues with their newly acquired Handy2/pro or if you were a Kickstarter backer and got a replacement after the whole battery incident, and if you are also having issues.
