Asked for this on Discord too already I think Mr. HS said its on the List. What would also be cool would be keystrokes from HS so you can activate MFP Macros by controller.
No upper right corner settings there one tab. Settings/shortcut. Not the most intuitive way to set them but you will figure it out. You can shortcut upper and lower motion percentage of axis for example.
POVR just updated to use a Connecty site to use bluetooth toys (kiiroo all that is supported atm).
they mentioned this worked with Heresphere as well, but wasnât clear on steps, are you aware of this update and can you provide how we use this for Heresphere to connect BT toys to POVR?
Iâm having troubles with Heresphereâs Timestamp server. Iâm using a Quest 3, I can play vids via SMB on my network no problem, but I canât get it to connect to Scriptplayer or MultiFunPlayer. Iâve followed the instructions in the other topic that covers how to do this, but it doesnât work.
One thing thatâs unclear in those instructions⌠what IP address needs to be entered in the Heresphere Timestamp server and the funscript player? I know it has to be the same IP in both places, but is it the IP of the computer the script player is on, some other random unused IP on the network, or the IP of the VR headset? (Iâve tried all three and none work, but would still be good understand which itâs supposed to be)
When I try the IP of my PC I get a generic âThe operation was cancelledâ error in MultiFunPlayer when trying to connect to Heresphere. If I use any other IP (including the IP of the Quest3), I get a âcanât find running Heresphere processâ. Iâve tried multiple computers, IPs, ports, updating to latest versions, even disabling the firewall, nothing works. Anyone know what might be going on here or what else to try?
From my understanding, try these steps:
- Go to POVR in a normal web browser, login, and play an interactive video.
- A message in the bottom right corner of the web browser should show âDevice status: not connectedâ. Click on that and then select the Kiiroo Keon options, and the âConnection Controllerâ option, enter your POVR username, and then copy the connection key.
- In a supported web browser on a device that has bluetooth capabilities (like your phone or computer, not sure if Quest allows bluetooth connections via web browser), go to connectycontroller.com, input your connection key from step 2, and add your bluetooth device. You can view the list of supported web browsers depending on the device here: ConnectyController FAQ
- Launch HereSphere and load the web view for POVR, then stream a video. HereSphere sends playback events to Connect and Control, which then communicates with connectycontroller.com to control your phone (or computerâs) bluetooth.
Seems like itâs still in beta, so there are probably lots of issues to iron out. Youâre probably already aware of the povr forum thread on this isssue.
In the HereSphere user settings, thereâs an icon to the right of the IP input box for the timestamp server. Click on it to get the Quest 3âs IP address. Input that IP address into ScriptPlayer or MultiFunPlayer. Also make sure the port matches. Sometimes youâll need to restart ScriptPlayer/MultiFunPlayer for the IP address change to take effect. If it still doesnât work, try restarting all your devices (headset, computer, router).
That worked, thanks. I think closing/re-opening ScriptPlayer is what did it. Since I didnât know which IP was the right one before, I was just frantically changing it to all kinds of different ones without ever restarting the app.
SLR. Yes I know, it violates your âworks with heresphereâ requirement but it works fine with deovr which does all the same stuff as heresphere without costing $30.
HereSphere is better than DeoVR, by far.
It definitely does not.
Okay, Iâll bite. What killer feature are yaâll using in Heresphere that makes it so much better or different? I loaded it last night and I found the UI cluttered and not particularly intuitive. Most things seemed to be there though and with some trial and error I figured out how to load and bookmark XBVR and SLR [just icons with no tooltips so purely trial and error]
I gave up and asked for a refund after connecting to MFP and discovering the show stopper of having broken SLR/interactive integration [Yooiâs comments seem to suggest this is on Heresphere, not SLR].
Did I miss a big use case or is this a player holy war thing like gpl vs bsd or vi vs emacs?
HS himself is best qualified to tell you the differences. He should post a comparison table. I used Deo and saw its free but very limited. UI yeah this was the first thing I thought too, the learning curve is a bit too steep especially setting up the controllers so they work as you like with multiple layers. But then you realize it can literally just do anything. For example you can set and save a waypoint at specific time in the movie and turn the camera around. Just an example of what craziness it can do.
Updates in script direction come slowly for my taste as something else is important again, at the moment its Apple vision port and it was DLNA, but they will come. Still doesnât show heatmap when connected to MFP and would love to send controller commands via keyboard keys to MFP to activate shortcuts. He is here and he is listening as well as on Discord. The features will come.
The price seems quite high but its one time, he never asked for money for updates.
What do you think why SLR blocks HS? For sure not cause itâs the worse than Deo. I guess they pull usage info from Deo, dont want even to know what they do if they have to block HS.
HS gets better and better and HS is to be supported. You will not regret buying it.
âFor example you can set and save a waypoint at specific time in the movie and turn the camera around.â
Like in a persistent way that happens next time you watch the vid? That could be cool for clip collections and position changes to realign your body with the actor.
âWhat do you think why SLR blocks HS?â
As far as I know the issue isnât that SLR blocks HS. If Iâm wrong HS should ping them on discord, theyâve been active here and there.
I believe the issue is that HS doesnât support an API which both SLR and XBVR support. There is a post far earlier in the thread where Yooi requests the HS developer provide information so he can integrate with them. This isnât related to HS but here Yooi [MFP developer] is explaining to me that Iâm getting the script from XBVR from the API [which indicates SLR but isnât in this case] rather than XBVRâs repo. I think this is part of the showing a heatmap in MFP thing.
âYoooi â Today at 8:01 AM
the script gets loaded from SLR instead of using XBVR repository because when you browse to localhost:9999 it is able to read the script from XBVR scene directly, and it probably sends the script to MFP using the same api as for SLR script streaming

so technically if you use SLR you dont have to use XBVR repository in MFPâ
âThe price seems quite high but its one time, he never asked for money for updates.â
Thatâs isnât the end of the world. I might buy it ANYWAY just to support options but SLR is a deal breaker.
yes
SLR definitely disallows HS. Access denied. I dont think I will subscribe to SLR again, the change of 10 to 3 scripts while subscription running shows how shady they are. You dont change terms mid sub.
About XBVR i dont know I threw it off my machine after hacking reports.
SLR is not HS fault quite sure, but I am also sure he will comment.
here you go:
real shady
Just DL files and forget Deo.
For me itâs the integration with XBVR thatâs way better than in DeoVR (aka SLR video player). The browsing UI is better, You can search by them, see the tags in a video, rate videos, and sync that 2-ways. You can also see the heatmap when playing a video in Heresphere.
You also have a lot more controls to fix a video in Heresphere than in DeoVR (though the UI is indeed overwhelming and so personally I donât use it that often).
Pretty sure it is. If I remember correctly SLR (the website) had a public API to fetch the content that they disabled to prevent 3rd party video players, like Heresphere, to browse their content.
Youâre mixing 2 different things here. That API is the remote API that DeoVR supports that allows the player to be remotely controlled by MFP. That has no relation with SLRâs content.
The remote API is separate from SLR content. The remote API provides the video, time tracking/state and information from the player.
The interactive API relates to SLRâs content, MFP connects to it using the SLR credentials you input but somehow XBVR will piggyback on it if itâs there. Itâs a little confusing TBH.
Iâm sure their main concern is keeping people from ripping their scripts. If they just let any third party app connect then how do they stop them scrapping the site? 10 vids a day can be ânormalâ usage easily and yet let someone scrape the entire site in a couple months.
Is there a way to edit your favourites list?
I moved a bunch of files to another drive, if there was a text file or something where I could find/replace the file locations it would save me so much work.
There currently isnât a way to edit your favorite list outside the app (other than using xbvr), but I plan on adding an option to export your library in JSON format in the future. Itâll have to wait until later this year with the big UX update.
How feasible would an AI passthrough feature be? Would this be doable? And if so, is it on the roadmap?
